Daunte Culpepper would be open to returning to the Lions for the 2010 campaign, according to MLive.com.

Our View:Detroit GM Martin Mayhew also noted that he would not rule out bringing Culpepper back. Culpepper would continue to provide veteran depth as a backup quarterback, and also serve as a mentor to young starter Matthew Stafford.

Daunte Culpepper, perhaps trying out for a new contract this offseason, completed 23-of-34 passes for 262 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception as the Lions fell to the Bears 37-23.

Our View:Culpepper appeared in some form in eight games this season, but even after today's performance, he still has six interceptions against three touchdowns this season. He will have to lower his asking price quite a bit if he hopes to find a job this offseason.

As expected, Daunte Culpepper will start over Drew Stanton for the Lions against the Bears on Sunday, according to Fox Sports.

Our View:This was a classic case of "pick your poison" for the Lions. Culpepper starting should prove to be only slightly less disastrous than had Stanton gotten the call, and it should be an easy Week 17 for Chicago.

Daunte Culpepper again took the majority of first-team snaps at quarterback for the Lions on Friday, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Our View:He will most likely start over Drew Stanton on Sunday, though the team has not made an official announcement yet. Regardless of who starts, it is going to be a long day for the Lions.
