November 20, 2008 From here on out, NFL referees will have to take a member of his crew with him to the sidelines where the replay booth is, according to the Our View:This tweaking was put into effect because of the touchdown that was taken away from the Steelers at the end of their game last week. The purpose of this is to simply have everything written down. In the past, officials could have told a referee if they noticed he made a mistake, so we're not exactly certain how this will change anything except to take more time as the referee explains the ruling to the official so he can write it down. |
