The Boston Globe reports that Jerod Mayo has not participated in OTAs or the Patriots' mandatory minicamp due to an undisclosed injury.

Our View:Mayo was the Defensive Rookie of the Year last season and should see continued improvement as a sophomore - assuming the injury is not that significant. He is not on crutches, but we'll have to see how much he participates in training camp. He can be a beast in tackle-heavy IDP formats.

Defensive tackle Vince Wilfork is attending the start of the Patriots' three-day minicamp on Wednesday. "I love football. If something's mandatory, I signed a six-year deal and I'm going to meet all of my obligations," Wilfork tells the Boston Herald. He is looking for a contract extension.

Our View:The Patriots sound like they are interested in working out a long-term deal with the nose tackle, who is the lynchpin of their 3-4 defense. His arrival could help those efforts.

The Patriots begin a three-day, mandatory minicamp on Wednesday, and there is a "strong vibe" that defensive tackle Vince Wilfork will attend, the Boston Globe.

Our View:We use the term "strong vibe" when we're trying to justify betting on red or hitting on 15. Let's hope the paper's feeling actually have more basis than that.

The Boston Globe is reporting that Vince Wilfork was in attendance for the Patriots Charitable Foundation Golf Tournament on Monday. Wilfork has sat out all offseason team activities thus far, but his attendance at the golf tournament may signal his willingness to show up for mandatory camps in June.

Our View:This is a good sign for the Pats, but it is far from set in stone that he will attend the mandatory camps in June. Wilfork is unhappy with his deal, and it doesn't figure to be resolved any time soon. We will keep you updated on his status for the June camps.

Angelo Craig was released by the Patriots, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:The Patriots have enough depth at linebacker and Craig was not expected to push for a roster spot in training camp. He did not see any action as a rookie with New England in 2008.
