The Ravens placed Ray Lewis on IR Thursday after he underwent hamstring surgery, according to the Baltimore Sun. He will need two to three months to recover from the surgery, which will make him available for offseason workouts.

The Baltimore Sun reports that Ray Lewis underwent successful surgery on Wednesday to repair his torn right hamstring. He is expected to miss the remainder of the season and soon will be place on injured reserve by the Ravens. "It's the right thing to do," coach Brian Billick said. "It gives him the maximum rehab time."
