Ray Lewis was limited in Wednesday's practice due to a knee ailment, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Our View:The 33-year-old remains an elite NFL linebacker, and the Colts' groung attack, namely Joseph Addai, would benefit if he is hindered by the ailment in Week 6.

At 33-years-old, Ray Lewis is not quite the same as he once was, the Ravens are nearing a deal to lock him up for two more years and let him finish his career as a Raven, reports the Sporting News.

Our View:Lewis can't do what he used to, but he's still awfully good. He recorded 121 tackles, defended 10 passes, had two sacks, intercepted two passes, forced two fumbles and scored a touchdown last season. In IDP leagues, he is still a player to target.

Now the Baltimore Ravens know what it feels like to run into perennial Pro Bowl linebacker Ray Lewis. The two sides have hit a stalemate on contract talks aimed at a long-term extension, according to NFL.com. After 12 seasons in Baltimore, Lewis is heading into the last year of his contract. The two sides have engaged in contract talks, the Ravens have weighed in with their multi-year offer, Lewis has spelled out his asking price, and too much of a gap now exists to make anyone think a deal is anywhere near imminent.

Our View:The Ravens are entering the “between the rock and a hard place” zone with these negotiations. Lewis, 32, has been the face of the franchise for the past decade, but he has missed 15 starts due to various injuries over the past four seasons. Lewis still performs at a high level when he is on the field, and remains a fiery passionate leader. But the organization has to weigh the risk/reward of a lucrative extension for an aging veteran looking to get paid one last time before the end of his career.

Ray Lewis is not participating in the Baltimore Ravens’ offseason conditioning program but has been in contact with head coach John Harbaugh, according to the Baltimore Sun. "He's great. He's excited," Harbaugh said. "We get each other fired up. I start talking, he starts talking and the next thing we're screaming." So when does Harbaugh want Lewis to show up at team headquarters? "For a guy in his situation, he's working the contract stuff out with Ozzie," Harbaugh said of Lewis, who is entering the final year of his contract. "That's going to play itself out. We'll see. It's between him and Ozzie [Newsome, general manager] right now. I would love for him to be in there. He's got to work some things out." Lewis, 32, is a 13-year veteran, who won’t be impacted by missing voluntary workouts, because he is such a self-motivated athlete.

Baltimore Ravens’ owner Steve Bisciotti said the team is in "open dialogue" with linebacker Ray Lewis on a contract extension, according to the Baltimore Sun. "If he becomes a free agent next year, I think the Ravens would probably outbid other teams," Bisciotti said. "We know Ray's value more than the other teams. We know the leadership he brings to the team. We know the commitment and the effort he gives to winning." Lewis, 32, is scheduled to make $6.5 million this season.
