As expected, veteran kicker Matt Stover signed with the Colts on Wednesday, according to Pro Football Talk.

Our View:He will fill-in for regular Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri, who is expected to miss about six weeks with a knee injury. The Colts' high-powered offense has attempted just eight field goals all season, so you're likely better off looking elsewhere for a Vinatieri replacement.

Matt Stover auditioned for the Giants today, according to Mike Garafolo's (Star-Ledger) twitter page.

Our View:The Giants are looking at other options at placekicker, but are expected to stick with Lawrence Tynes for now.

The Ravens have not completely ruled out the possibility of re-signing kicker Matt Stover, whom they released less than two weeks ago, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:The chances that Stover, who has stated a desire to retire, returns for a 20th season in the league is remote. It appears the Ravens are more inclined to bestow place-kicking duties upon second-year player Steven Hauschka.

Matt Stover is ready to hang up his cleats after being released by the Ravens, according to NFL.com.

Our View:Stover has not made a 50-yard field goal since 2006, and has struggled from the 40-49 range over the last two seasons as well. He had a great career, but it is the right time for him to retire.

The Baltimore Ravens have released kicker Matt Stover, according to MVN.com.

Our View:Stover simply didn't have the leg to make long kicks anymore, as he was just 5-of-10 from beyond 40 yards, and no longer did kick offs. He had been the only kicker in the history of the franchise.
