Muhsin Muhammad returned to practice following his bout with a knee injury, according to the Gaston Gazette. He said, "I think the coaching staff and the training staff is just being smart about guys that are banged up and might need a little bit of rest. We're close to that midway point, so it was nice for me to be able to rest a couple of nicks and bruises and then get ready for the game."

Our View:He should be good to go for Sunday's game against Arizona. Muhammad only has two touchdowns, but has been productive in PPR leagues with 32 receptions for 469 yards.

Muhsin Muhammad did not practice with the team on Wednesday as he recovers from a knee injury, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:Muhammad has had a good season so far in 2008. He has caught 32 balls for 469 yards and a touchdown. If you need a good fill-in receiver for a bye week, the Panthers receiver mught be a good option.

Muhsin Muhammad was a full participant in Friday's practice and should be able to play on Sunday. He is considered day-to-day with a knee sprain.

Our View:Muhammad has 29 catches on the season. He is an excellent option as a bye week fill-in receiver.

Muhsin Muhammad is considered day-to-day after suffering a knee sprain in Sunday's loss at Tampa Bay, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Our View:The ailment is not believed to be serious. The Panthers have a favorable match-up in Week 7 against the Saints, who have surrendered seven scores through the air.
October 12, 2008
Wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad was able to return during the Week 6 loss in Tampa, the Charlotte Observer confirms. He injured his left knee during the fourth quarter.

Our View:Moose didn't have a catch after coming back, but we figure he should be able to play in Week 7. The Panthers will hopefully provide an update early in the week.
October 12, 2008
Wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad exited the game against Tampa Bay in the fourth quarter with a left knee injury.

Our View:Muhammad, who compiled four catches for 68 yards before leaving the game, is questionable to return.
September 28, 2008
Wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad caught eight passes for 147 yards and a touchdown in the Week 4 win over the Falcons.

Our View:Life sure is easier with Steve Smith on the other side, huh? Muhammad won't be a consistent fantasy contributor, but he can clearly still show up against weaker defenses.
September 27, 2008
Muhsin Muhammad hs 100-yard games in two of his last three against Atlanta.

Our View:Muhammad is a decent WR3 this weekend. However, beware of the fact that Carolina could get up big early and then turn to the run in the second half.
August 22, 2008
Muhsin Muhammad has returned to practice after dealing with a rib injury, according to the Charlotte Obssrver.

Our View:Muhammad has a firm grip on a starting spot at receiver opposite Steve Smith, and could be a solid late-round value pick for larger leagues.

Although he won’t say it, it’s pretty clear that head coach John Fox views the acquisitions of veteran wide receivers Muhsin Muhammad and D.J. Hackett as a dramatic upgrade over last year’s twosome of Keary Colbert and Drew Carter, according to the Charlotte Observer. “That’s what you try to do is regroup in the off-season,” Fox said. “That was an area where we felt like we needed to add some depth. Not just good players, but good guys, too. I think we hit on both of those guys.” Muhammad ran with the starters during minicamp while Hackett was the No. 3 receiver. Dwayne Jarrett and Ryne Robinson continue to battle for the No. 4 spot, but the receiver who really impressed this weekend was Jason Carter. Carter spent most of last year on the team’s practice squad before being called up late in the season. He made two nice receptions during Saturday’s practice.

Our View:Carolina is a team that could return to prominence with a few breaks. The organization has stockpiled offensive linemen during the offseason, expecting to feature a power running game behind Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams. They have also provided Jake Delhomme with some new weapons in the passing game, which could really allow the offense to fire on all cylinders.

Coach Fox commented on the return of Muhsin Muhammad, according to the Charlotte Observer. Fox said, "The truth be known, we've not replaced him since he left the first time. If you did the math, the closest was Keyshawn Johnson in 2006 as far as the numbers. We've tried a variety of things, and now we're on the next one." Buccaneers Coach Gruden also commented that the Panthers will receive a jolt of leadership from Muhammad's return.

The Panthers are close to signing Muhsin Muhammad to a contract, according to the AP. "Hopefully we can get something done in the next day or so," agent Marty Hurney said. Muhammad spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Panthers and would reunite with Steve Smith, though he may end up the No. 3 option to Dwayne Jarrett in Carolina.

Muhsin Muhammad just might end up returning to the Panthers, this according to a report on NFL.com. Contrary to a report in the Herald On Line, Muhammad's agent has been in negotiations with the Panthers, but the report also states that he has been in contact with a couple of other teams as well. Muhammad is nothing more than a possession receiver at this point, but Steve Smith certainly needs some support in the passing game and the team would love to add some depth to support youngster Dwayne Jarrett.

Contrary to previous reports, WR Muhsin Muhammad isn’t a lock to land in Carolina, according to the Herald. Last week, there was a report on ProFootballTalk.com, that Muhammad was close to signing a deal with the Panthers. However, there seems to be no sense of urgency in Carolina, because Muhammad, 35, isn’t expected to have a long list of suitors on the open market. Muhammad had the best season of his career (2004) with Carolina, posting 93 receptions, 1,405 yards and 16 touchdowns. Unfortunately, his reception totals have decreased every year since then, down to 40 last year.

Muhsin Muhammad could be returning to his former team, the Carolina Panthers. Profootballtalk.com reports that Moose is close to a deal that would return the 34-year-old to the only National Football League franchise outside of Chicago he has ever played for. Muhsin Muhammad, who was recently released by the Chicago Bears, is reportedly getting interest from the Washington Redskins, Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers, according to ESPN.
