Over the offseason, Kerry Collins will look for a team that will allow him to start, according to the Nashville Tennessean. However, he added that he could see himself returning to the Titans. "If there's a starting job out there for me, I'm going to take it," Collins said. "I know I can still play. Having said that, I do like it here. I like the area, and my family really likes it. I like playing for Jeff (Fisher). I think a lot of my decision — if they want me back here — will be based on whether or not Jeff comes back or if they sign Jeff to an extension."

Titans coach Jeff Fisher said Monday that Kerry Collins will start in Week 4. "Kerry was 0-4 and then 13 for the next 16 in the first half," Fisher said "He settled down and made plays, moved the ball in the two minute and made some tough throws against a pretty good defense." Vince Young did not play at all in Week 3 after playing a bit in each of the first two games.

Coach Jeff Fisher reiterated on Monday that Kerry Collins was still his starter, despite his dismal performance in Week 2, according to the Nashville Tennessean. "Kerry was brought here because of his experience and we are sticking with Kerry," Fisher said. "We're going to continue to develop Vince (Young). Kerry's experience is the reason he is playing. He has all kinds of experience in this league under center and Billy (Volek)has basically had back-up experience. You are entitled to disagree with our decision, but that is the decision we made and we have reasons for it."

Kerry Collins was simply horrendous in Week 2, and as a result Vince Young ended up playing more than expected. Collins was 6-of-19 for 57 yards, with two interceptions. The Titans are rumored to be close to trading Billy Volek, but perhaps they might reconsider.

Kerry Collins had an awful game in his debut as the starter for the Titans. Collins completed just 17-of-38 passes for 223 yards and two interceptions. It's doubtful that the Titans would switch to Billy Volek or Vince Young this early in the season, as Collins' performance could at least partially be excused by his minimal practice time with his new team.
September 10, 2006
ESPN's John Clayton reports that Kerry Collins will start for the Titans today. However, Vince Young is expected to play two or three series. Billy Volek will be the No. 3 QB.
September 8, 2006
Kerry Collins is expected to start for the Titans Sunday, though Jeff Fisher probably won't make a public announcement until game day, the Nashville Tennessean reports. Fisher has also hinted that Vince Young could see occasional snaps in the early part of the season, though he will not be the team's starter initially. Billy Volek is the other quarterback in the mix.

Titans head coach Jeff Fisher said Monday that the decision on who to start at quarterback in the season opener could go all the way up to gametime, according to the Titans website. Obviously, he'll make a decision sooner than that, but that doesn't mean he'll announce it. Kerry Collins is the presumed favorite, but Billy Volek may still be in the mix because of his greater knowledge of the offense.

August 28, 2006
The Titans have agreed in principle to a deal with Kerry Collins, according to the AP. The Titans have been concerned with the preseason play of Billy Volek, who could eventually lose his starting job. "Billy's got some competition," Fisher said. "I've spoken with Billy. Billy's not too awfully pleased with it. But that's life in the NFL." Fischer said that Volek will remain the starter for now with Vince Young backing up while Collins learns the offense.

Kerry Collins was slated to visit with the Titans, according to the Tennessean. He may take a physical soon and sign as a free agent with the team. It's not clear exactly what role he'd have, since Billy Volek currently is the starter and first-round pick Vince Young is waiting in the wings.
June 17, 2006
The Titans are considering bringing in a veteran quarterback to compete with Billy Volek, and Kerry Collins is at the top of their list, according to the Tennessean. With Steve McNair out of the picture, Volek currently is the starter, while Collins was released by the Raiders this offseason in a salary-cap move. "The decision on whether we bring anybody in will be closer to training camp," GM Floyd Reese said.
