Redskins guard Pete Kendall was back on the practice field Thursday after missing Wednesday's activities, according to the Washington Post.

Our View:The veteran was held out of Wednesday's practice, but seemingly just for rest.

Our View:It is not expected that Kendall will miss any playing time. The Redskins have been giving the veteran regular days off to help his knees recover.

Redskins coaches are very happy with the way veteran guard Pete Kendall has been playing, especially in the running game, according to Pro Football Weekly.

Our View:Clinton Portis often runs behind Kendall, and he is a big reason why Washington is fifth in the NFL in rushing yards per game, at nearly 147. Portis and Co. have a great matchup Sunday against the hapless Rams.

Redskins right tackle Todd Wade and left guard Pete Kendall both returned to practice on Thursday after sitting out on Thursday, the Washington Post reports. Wade has a strained groin, and Kendall has general soreness in his knees and hamstrings. Both linemen are expected to start on Sunday.

Pete Kendall hasn't been with the Redskins very long, but he is already listed as the team's starter at left guard and will get some reps in the preseason finale on Thursday. He practiced with the Redskins for the first time on Tuesday. "My goal is to be effective as soon as possible," Kendall tells the team's official web site. "The hope is that's by Week 1."
