According to Allen Wilson of the Buffalo News, Jairus Byrd (groin) returned to practice Sunday.

Our View:It's still looking like the second-year stud will play week one, even though he didn't run at full speed Saturday. Byrd's dealing with an infection related to groin surgery, but he's feeling better every day, and we'd be surprised if he's not on the field when Buffalo takes on the Dolphins next Sunday.

According to the Associated Press, "Buffalo Bills starting safety Jairus Byrd is out indefinitely and could miss the season opener after having surgery for the third time in 13 months to repair a groin injury."

Our View:This, after he spent the offseason recording from hip surgery. Although he's proven he has the talent to be an NFL starter, he may not have the longevity. George Wilson should start in his absence.

Jairus Byrd is recovering nicely from offseason hip surgery, according to BuffaloBills.com. "I've felt pretty good," Byrd said on Wednesday. "I'm coming back into the swing of things, but the rest of it is just on-the-field stuff. It has to loosen up, there is some tightness in there, but the rest is just getting out and working it out on the field."

Our View:The runner-up to the disgraced Brian Cushing in the Associated Press' defensive rookie of the year award voting this offseason (twice), Byrd should be in line for a huge sophomore campaign as long as he has a healthy training camp this summer. Expect him to do so.

Jairus Byrd, who been dealing with a nagging groin injury the past few weeks, has been placed on the injured reserve, according to ESPN.com.

Our View:The rookie currently leads the league with nine interceptions, though Asante Samuel, Charles Woodson and Darren Sharper all have eight and will have two weeks to catch Byrd. While Byrd needs to improve his tackling and help at stopping the run, his season was clearly a success, and he'll enter 2010 as Buffalo's starting free safety.

Jairus Byrd (groin) is expected to play against the Dolphins on Sunday, according to NFL.com.

Our View:The rookie leads the league with eight interceptions and will have a chance to add to that against Chad Henne today, though Henne has thrown just one pick the last four weeks.
