Jags place Bryan Smith on IR

The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed linebacker Bryan Smith on injured reserve, ending his 2009 season, according to beat writer Michael C. Wright. Smith left Sunday's game in the second quarter with a shoulder injury.
Our View: Smith had just six tackles for the Jags on the season, so they should be able to replace his production. The team activated rookie Jeremy Navarre to replace Smith on the roster.
