Raptors' Nesterovic exercises option
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Toronto Raptors center Rasho Nesterovic has exercised his player option for the 2008-09 season, the team announced Friday.

Per team policy, financial terms were not disclosed.

The 7-foot Slovenian will be entering his 11th NBA season. He averaged 7.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in 71 contests this season, starting 39 times and seeing 20.9 minutes of floor action per contest.

Reiterating a position that he put out there about a week ago, Jose Calderon said that he wants to be a starter and that if he can't be in Toronto he wants out, according to Slam Sports. "I would like to start and that's the most important thing," Calderon said.

Our View:Wow, way to be a team player. Who cares about winning as long as you get yours eh Jose? Who would want an attitude like that on their team? Oops, we almost forgot this is the NBA we are talking about, so there are probably 18 teams lining up for his services right now.

The Toronto Raptors have picked up the option on rookie forward Jamario Moon for next season, according to SLAM Sports.

Our View:Moon averaged 8.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, making him a no-brainer for retaining. He ranked first among the NBA Rookies in steals (1.03), second in blocks (1.38), third in rebounds (6.2), fourth in minutes (27.8), and 10th in scoring (8.5).
