Sampson hired as Bucks assistant
Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Milwaukee Bucks general manager John Hammond announced Wednesday that Kelvin Sampson and three others will join the team as assistant coaches under new head coach Scott Skiles.

The others hired to round out the staff include Jim Boylan, Lionel Hollins and Joe Wolf.

The announcement comes less than three months after Sampson was forced to resign as head coach of Indiana's men's basketball program amid five major NCAA rules violations.

Michael Redd, G Monday 4/21, 3:20 PM CT
The Bucks have signed Scott Skiles to be their new head coach, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel confirms. Skiles previously piloted the Suns and Bulls and managed a 281-251 regular season record

Our View:Skiles brings a tough-nosed approach to a team in need of some, uh, gumption. The Bucks have a few nice pieces, including Michael Redd and Andrew Bogut, and Skiles' first priority will likely be to improve the club's poor defense.
Michael Redd, G Monday 4/21, 11:09 AM CT
The Bucks are reportedly close to naming Scott Skiles as their new head coach, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Skiles was the Bucks first-round pick in 1986, but he lasted only one season with the team. He eventually went on to star with the Magic. He has posted a 281-251 record as a head coach with the Suns and Bulls.

Our View:Skiles has rubbed some people the wrong way during his head coaching days, but it's often because he wants guys to play hard and (shockingly) play defense. And he is usually open and honest, almost to a fault. The Bucks need some tough love after going 26-56 and allowing a league-worst 48.0 shooting percentage in 2007-08.
Ramon Sessions, G Thursday 4/17, 3:37 PM CT
Ramon Sessions was named the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month of April, this according to NBA.com. Sessions was the only rookie in the league who averaged a double-double with averages of 11.5 points and 11.3 assists.

Our View:Sessions really showed what he was capable of late in the year, and his name is one to remember next year at the draft table if the Bucks put the ball in his hands again.
