Walter Sharpe, PF Wednesday 7/23, 9:05 AM CT
Second-round pick (32nd overall) Walter Sharpe has agreed to a two-year deal with the Pistons, according to the AP. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View: Sharpe has strong upside, but is raw and needs time to develop and adapt to the NBA, meaning his fantasy value will be limited as a rookie.
Will Bynum, G Wednesday 7/23, 9:01 AM CT
Will Bynum has agreed to a two-year deal with the Pistons, according to the AP. The contract offers $700,00 guaranteed, and includes a team option for the second year.

Our View: The team feels he is a great athlete, but he hasn't played in the NBA since the 2005-06 season with Golden State, when he only averaged 3.6 points over 15 games. He is not expected to be fantasy worthy with a fresh start with Detroit.
Trent Plaisted, C Thursday 7/17, 12:35 PM CT
Rookie center Trent Plaisted (BYU) has shown promise as a defender, according to MLive.com. He has been among the most consistent performers so far through the summer league, and coach Michael Curry said, "Trent's defense is definitely ahead of his offense. Pick-and-roll is what our league has gone to now. Your bigs have to be able to get out and move their feet. He already can get up and defend pick-and-rolls, which is the hardest thing to do for a big man right now."

Our View: Plaisted averaged six points and 4.5 boards over his first two games in summer league play. He could develop into a sound starter for the Pistons, but his fantasy value will be limited as a rookie.
Rodney Stuckey, G Tuesday 7/15, 9:41 AM CT
The Pistons indicated that Rodney Stuckey's toe injury is not serious, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Our View: The ailment isn't expected to limit his minutes in tonight's game against the Bucks. He has notably been among the best players through the summer league so far.
Arron Afflalo, G Tuesday 7/15, 8:33 AM CT
Arron Afflalo continues to work on his game, and he spent countless hours at the Pistons' practice facility improving his shooting touch and working on displaying more athleticism, according to MLive.com. Afflalo led all scorers with 25 points on 8-for-10 shooting from the field in Sunday's win over the Clippers in summer league play. Coach Michael Curry said, "You're always glad to see everyone play well. But especially him because you see how hard he works, and puts in the time to improve his game. I've always said, when Arron plays consistent minutes, he shoots the ball consistently."

Our View: Afflalo's hard work should pay off, and he is expected to play consistent minutes in the rotation as the team's backup shooting guard to Richard Hamilton. He could rank as a late-round sleeper for next season.
Rodney Stuckey, G Monday 7/14, 10:13 AM CT
NBA.com reports that Rodney Stuckey sat out most of the second half with an undisclosed injury, has been one of the best players in Las Vegas

Our View: Stuckey, as expected, has been one of the most impressive summer league participants. He scored 21 points, five rebounds and four assists in the first game and had totaled eight points and four boards in 19 minutes before coming out of the second. The Pistons may be trying to open more playing time up for the guard, and if they do, he could make a significant impact in fantasy leagues.
Chauncey Billups, G Saturday 7/12, 7:50 AM CT
The Pistons and Warriors have reportedly been discussing a potential trade involving Chauncey Billups, according to the Oakland Tribune. The Pistons want Andris Biedrins, but the Warriors are offering Al Harrington.

Our View: Billups may not be a great fit with Golden State as he will turn 32 in September and the Warriors employ a run-and-gun style.
Jarvis Hayes, G Thursday 7/10, 10:28 PM CT
Reports have surfaced that state free-agent forward Jarvis Hayes is on the verge of signing a two-year agreement with the New Jersey Nets, according to Yahoo Sports.

Our View: As the Nets begin rebuilding with a core of young players, Hayes, 26, gives New Jersey’s bench some veteran scoring pop and athleticism. After spending four years with the Washington Wizards, where Hayes had been a lottery pick in 2003, he played the past season with the Detroit Pistons.
