Updating an earlier report, the Grizzlies have signed Darius Miles to a non-guaranteed minimum-salary contract, according to the Memphis Commercial-Appeal.

Our View:Miles probably won't have much fantasy value for a while, as he won't get many minutes.

The Grizzlies appear like they will sign Darius Miles, according to the Memphis Commercial-Appeal.

Our View:Miles was waived by the Celtics on October 20th so that Boston could get down to the maximum roster size of 15 players.
October 20, 2008
Darius Miles has been waived by the Celtics, according to the Boston Herald. He missed two full seasons after microfracture surgery on his knee.

Our View:The Celtics are now down to the NBA maximum limit of 15 players following his release. Assuming he can find work with another club, he isn't likely to be productive enough to be fantasy worthy.

Boston's Darius Miles was suspended 10 games for violating the NBA's drug policy, but does not know how he tested positive for phentermin - common in diet pills - and he will not appeal, according to ESPN.com. I could have gone to a team that would have me to appeal it and fight it, but I went to a team that told me to leave it alone, so I'll leave it alone," Miles said.

Our View:Miles will still have to make the team out of training camp, and only then would he serve the suspension.

The NBA on Friday suspended Boston Celtics forward Darius Miles for 10 games for a violation the league’s drug policy according to the AP. Miles violated the anti-drug program at the end of the 2007-08 season. The league said the violation involved phentermin, which is an appetite suppressant.

Our View:He last played in the NBA in 2005-06, averaging a career-high 14.0 points and 4.6 rebounds in 40 games for the Portland Trail Blazers. Originally selected third overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2000 draft, the 6-9 Miles has career averages of 10.7 points and 5.2 rebounds.

Miles, returning from microfracture knee surgery, feels like he is 90-95 percent healthy, The Boston Globe reports.

Our View:Miles signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Celtics and hopes to return from his career-threatening injury. Keep track of his progress, as he could be worth a flyer in deep fantasy leagues.
August 22, 2008
Darius Miles has signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Celtics, according to the Boston Globe. Celtics' GM Danny Ainge said, "He's coming to training camp and he's going to try to prove that he can make the team. He has come in for a couple of workouts. He'll try to make the team somehow."

Our View:Miles has career averages of 10.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.15 blocks over 412 career games. He was originally drafted with the third overall pick in the 2000 draft by the Clippers. He is trying to rebound from knee injuries that were believed to be career-threatening.

Miles is attempting to return from microfracture surgery he had to his right knee in 2006. Once deemed to be "career-ending" by the NBA, Miles has set out to prove them wrong. Miles has earned workouts with the Nets, Celtics, Suns, and Mavericks, reports SI.com. "I feel like I'm a starter in this league -- on a lot of teams I really should be a starter,'' Darius said. "But I would love to go to a playoff team to come off the bench.''

Our View:Miles return could be an amazing one. Keep him on your fantasy radar if he ends up signing with a team, that is if you don't mind a little risk.
July 10, 2008
The Phoenix Suns medical staff examined Darius Miles' knee, but they are not expected to sign him, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:Miles has missed the last two seasons with his knee injury and may have to sit out the first 10 games of his season no matter where he signs. His once promising career is on hold, and his fantasy value is nil.
July 5, 2008
Darius Miles may have to sit out the first 10 games of the upcoming season due to a failed drug test, but that doesn't mean he is currently stumpy for a position with a new club, according to the Oregonian. In fact, Miles has recently been working out with the Boston Celtics as he attmempts to return to the court after last seasons knee surgery.

Our View:Miles not only needs to prove he is healthy, he will also have to overcome the drug violation that will carry with it the 10-game suspension, not necessarily a great calling card to entice a new team to taking him on.
July 2, 2008
Darius Miles will be suspended for the first 10 games of next season after failing a league drug test, according to The Oregonian.

Our View:The league has yet to release what substance Miles has tested positive for, but it may be the results are for naught. Miles was diagnosed with a knee injury that has been labeled as career ending, and it is an injury no player has ever returned to action in the NBA from. Miles has been working out in Phoenix, hoping to return, and this matter is simply the NBA insuring their bases are covered should be achieve the miracle of full health.
April 14, 2008
The Trail Blazers have requested waivers on forward Darius Miles, the Oregonian confirms. Miles hasn't played in a game since April 15, 2006 due to a right knee injury. "This allows Darius and the Trail Blazers to move forward and achieve closure to this matter. To his credit, Darius worked hard to come back, but his body just didn't allow it to happen," general manager Kevin Pritchard says.

Our View:Miles' knee injury has also affected his movie career. Wait, no, that's just the bad acting.
