Kevin Garnett is set to return to action tonight after serving his one-game suspension for hitting Andrew Bogut of Milwaukee, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:Garnett is off a solid start, averaging 16.3 points, 9.8 boards, 1.1 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game.
November 18, 2008
Coach Doc Rivers called Kevin Garnett's suspension "ridiculous," according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Rivers' opinion won't matter to the current suspension but Garnett will be back for the Celtics' next game.
November 17, 2008
Kevin Garnett has been suspended for one game for hitting Andrew Bogut in Saturday's game, according to ESPN.

Our View:KG has performed below expectations this season with averages of just 16.3 points and 9.8 rebounds.
November 12, 2008
Kevin Garnett pulled off a big performance in a one-point victory over the Hawks on Wednesday night. He finished with 25 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks in 35 minutes of action.

Our View:KG has big games when the Celtics require them of him to get a win. However, his lack of production in Boston's blowout victories have frustrated his owners who spent a first-round draft pick on him.
November 9, 2008
Kevin Garnett had an awful game on Sunday night as he hit just four of 15 shots on his way to eight points, 12 rebounds and four turnovers for the Celtics.

Our View:This was the first time in seven games that Garnett failed to score at least 11 points, though it was his sixth game in a row of at least eight boards. Few are steadier than Garnett, so expect a bounce back effort next time the Celtics hit the court.
November 7, 2008
Kevin Garnett fell just a rebound short of a double-double Friday, with nine rebounds and 16 points. He also had an assist, a steal, and two blocks.

Our View:KG and Paul Pierce continue to be one of the best forward tandems in the NBA, giving the Celtics a great chance at another title run.
November 1, 2008
Kevin Garnett contributed 18 points and 14 rebounds in Saturday's 95-79 loss to the Pacers. He also scored one assist, one steal, and one block.

Our View:That marks the second straight double-double for the reigning defensive player of the year.
October 31, 2008
Kevin Garnett was effective in his 27 minutes during Boston's 96-80 thumping of the Chicago Bulls. He had 18 points and 10 rebounds on 7-for-11 shooting.

Our View:In blowouts such as this, KG figures to play significantly less minutes which will deflate his stats. Unfortunately for his owners, the Celtics figure to blowout their competition often while defending their championship.
October 28, 2008
Kevin Garnett did not have the start to the season that he wanted. KG only scored eight points on 4-of-14 shooting. The only good thing that came out of the game was the 90-85 score in favor of the Celtics.

Our View:Since moving to the Celtics, KG's numbers went down due to the number of scorers on the floor at one time. Even though his numbers were down, there is no indications that they will continue to fall.
October 21, 2008
In 19 minutes of work on Tuesday Kevin Garnett scored 14 points, pulled down nine rebounds, had two steals and a block as Boston defeated the Knicks.

Our View:KG has not played many minutes at all in the preseason and should be fresh for the season after a long postseason run last year. His numbers were down last season, but don't expect them to fall any further this season.
June 17, 2008
Kevin Garnett scored 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting while collecting 14 rebounds in the Celtics' 131-92 thrashing of the Lakers in the NBA Finals-clenching Game 6 Tuesday.

Our View:Congrats, KG. You finally got your championship.
June 15, 2008
Kevin Garnett recorded a double-double in a losing effort on Sunday, as Boston fell to Los Angeles 103-98 in Game 5. Garnett racked up 13 points and a game-high 14 boards, with two steals. The Celtics failed to pull the plug on the Lakers tonight, but still lead the series 3-2, and have two chances to end it at home.

Our View:Garnett has notched a double-double in all five games of the finals, and is averaging 16.6 points and 12.8 boards.
June 13, 2008
Coach Doc Rivers has defended Kevin Garnett's lack of offense in the NBA Finals against the Lakers, according to the Boston Globe. He was averaging 18 points per game in the series heading into last night's Game 4, but was only shooting 35.5% from the field. Rivers said, "I liken him a little bit to Patrick Ewing. Playing for the Knicks, I remember everyone complaining that Patrick Ewing took too many jump shots. used to laugh. Well, he made most them, so why shouldn't he take them?"

Our View:It is hard to fault a guy that won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award, and has the Celtics one win away from claiming the NBA title.
June 12, 2008
Kevin Garnett is one victory from his first NBA title after the Celtics stunning comeback in a Game 4 victory over the Lakers, 97-91. James Posey was also big scoring 18 points, including four 3-pointers, off the bench.

Our View:Overcoming a 21-point first quarter deficit, the Celtics came on led by the play of Garnett who scored 16 points and hauled down 11 rebounds to overwhelm the Lakers late.
June 8, 2008
The Boston Celtics took the heat to the Lakers and have established 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals, tonight winning 108-102. Forward Kevin Garnett shot 7-of-19 from the floor and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line to score 17 points, mixed with 14 rebounds and three assists in support of the win.

Our View:Yes, Boston has won, but you better believer there is worry about Garnett. He should be taking the ball to the hole much more often than he is and he has yet to shine bright against what has been a horrendous Laker effort on defense. Getting the Big Ticket involved should be priority #1 if Boston wants to seal the deal.
June 6, 2008
Kevin Garnett was horrible in the final quarter of Game 1 against the Lakers missing nine shots in a row at one point. The big center was good defensively, though, prevented any L.A. player from getting in the paint and doing damage offensively.

Our View:Keeping the middle plugged help the perimeter defense hold Kobe Bryant to just 9-of-26 in the game.
June 5, 2008
Kevin Garnett led the Celtics in scoring with 24 points, Paul Pierce had 22, as the Celtics defeated the Lakers 98-88 in Game 1 of the Finals.

Our View:Garnett also hauled in 13 boards in the victory, and he had an emphatic dunk late to seal the victory. Kobe Bryant disappeared in this one, not so with Garnett.
June 5, 2008
Harrah's Entertainment will not be allowed to take any bets for the Laker-Celtics Finals because it is owned by Gary Loveman, a 2.4% minority owner in the Celtics, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:For those of you who live to watch the World Poker Tour on television, we thought we would point this out. For those of you that don't, please forgive us for wasting 15 seconds of your time.
June 4, 2008
The Celtics have played 20 postseason contests during this years playoffs. In those contests, their offense has scored 100 points just four times (after averaging 100.5 per contest during the regular season). Over those 20 games the offense has mostly been carried by power forward Kevin Garnett (at 21.1 points per game) and swingman Paul Pierce (at 19.0). Ray Allen shows with 14.2 points per game.

Our View:The expected totals for both teams combined, according to Vegas linesmakers, is expected to land in the area of 192 points. If the Celtics can't pick up their scoring then by most measures the Lakers offensive and balanced scoring gives them the edge in this series.
May 30, 2008
Kevin Garnett racked up 16 points and six boards in Friday's 89-81 win in Game 6 against Detroit. He also contributed four assists. Boston closed out the series 4-2.

Our View:That was his lowest rebounding total of the series, and tied his worst scoring effort, but he is forgiven as the Celtics move on to the NBA Finals.
May 28, 2008
The Celtics found a dominating lead hard to protect in the 4th quarter, but Boston closed the valve on the surge to win 106-102. Celtics forward Kevin Garnett, as usual, led the way with a team-high 33 points, shooting 11-of-17 from the field, 1-of-1 from the three, and 10-of-12 from the free-throw line.

Our View:The Big Ticket came up with seven total rebounds, two assists, and a steal along the way, shooting the ball from all over the floor. However, this may have been the best group effort this team has produced in this series. Now they return to Detroit for Game 6 with dreams of moving to the Finals.
May 26, 2008
Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen combined to shoot 11-for-38 from the field in Monday's loss to the Pistons.

Our View:Garnett, who was averaging 24 points and nearly 12 rebounds in the Detroit series, scored 16 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
May 26, 2008
Power forward Kevin Garnett has stepped up his game since the second round of the NBA playoffs. Against Detroit he's averaging 24 points and 11.7 rebounds a game.

Our View:Boston's Big Three will need the bench support they received in Game 3 if they want to win their second straight road playoff affair in Detroit tonight. Getting support from starting center Kendrick Perkins wouldn't hurt. He notched his second double-double of the postseason in Game 3, with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
May 24, 2008
Kevin Garnett led the Celtics to a Game 3 win over the Pistons Saturday, scoring 22 points to go along with 13 rebounds and six assists.

Our View:The Celts blew a huge lead but hung on to win, gaining homecourt advantage back from the Pistons.
May 22, 2008
For the first time in the playoffs this season, the Boston Celtics have fallen at home, losing 103-97 to the Detroit Pistons. Boston forward Kevin Garnett was the weapon of choice for the Celtics tonight, going 11-for-19 from the field to score 24 points with 13 rebounds and two blocked shots.

Our View:The terrific trio of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen combined for 75 points, but the effort failed to bring a much-needed win. Now the series heads to Detroit tied 1-1.
May 20, 2008
Kevin Garnett had 26 points and nine rebounds to lead Boston to an 88-79 victory in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals, the Celtics' 15th straight home win.

Our View:The Celts victory was impressive. After taking the first two series of the Eastern Conference to seven games, most believed Boston wouldn't have the steam to play at a high level in tonight's game.
May 18, 2008
Kevin Garnett had a solid Game 7 as he contributed 13 points and 13 boards in the Celtics victory.

Our View:While he was solid in the win, this was hardly a statement game for Garnett who handed out only three assists and generated just one steal. We will look for more out of him in the Conference Finals against the Pistons.
May 16, 2008
Kevin Garnett led the Celtics with 25 points and eight boards in Friday's 74-69 loss to the Cavs in Game 6. He also chipped in two assists and two blocks in the losing effort.

Our View:Cleveland has now tied the series 3-3. Garnett is averaging 20.6 points and 10.5 boards through the six games.
May 14, 2008
Kevin Garnett was 12-of-20 from the field and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe, scoring 26 points and the Boston Celtics beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 96-89 on Wednesday night to move within a win of the Eastern Conference finals.

Our View:Game 6 is in Cleveland on Friday night, with the deciding game in Boston on Sunday - if necessary.
May 12, 2008
Kevin Garnett and the Celtics have underestimated the Cavs ability to play defense. In Monday's Game 4 loss, Boston didn't have one player score over 20 points. Garnett recorded a Double-Double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Our View:The Celtics center was 6-of-13 from the floor and grabed 10 rebounds in the loss.
May 12, 2008
Kevin Garnett headlines this year's NBA All-Defensive Team, according to the AP. Garnett was also previously named Defensive Player of the Year.

Our View:This is Garnett's ninth selection, and he led the Celtics to the NBA's best record at 66-16, while averaging 9.2 boards, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game.
May 9, 2008
Kevin Garnett recorded a double-double in Thursday's 89-73 win over Cleveland in Game 2. Garnett scored 13 points and 12 boards, with four assists, one steal, and one block.

Our View:That was his fifth double-double of the playoffs. He helped guide the Celtics to a 2-0 lead in the series against the Cavs.
May 8, 2008
Forward Kevin Garnett has been named First-Team All-NBA, according to the Boston Globe. He also previously won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award, as he averaged 18.8 points, 9.2 boards, 3.4 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game this season.

Our View:He also led Boston to an NBA-best 66-16 record in his first season with the team.
May 6, 2008
Kevin Garnett paced the Celtics with 28 points in their Game 1 win over the Cavaliers. KG added eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals. He shot 13-of-22 from the floor.

Our View:There's a good reason KG finished third in the MVP voting.
May 4, 2008
Kevin Garnett racked up a double-double in Sunday's 99-65 blowout win over the Hawks in Game 7. Garnett led Boston with 11 boards, and scored 18 points, with three assists, one steal, and one block.

Our View:Garnett averaged 21 points, 8.8 boards, and two steals over the seven games of the series with Atlanta.
May 2, 2008
Kevin Garnett paced the Celtics with 22 points on Friday night but it wasn't enough as the Atlanta Hawks beat the top-seeded Celtics 103-100 on Friday night.

Our View:Garnett added seven rebounds and added five helpers against the upstart Hawks.
April 30, 2008
The Celtics used Game 5 to re-establish their intentions of dominating the Eastern Conference playoffs, putting a 110-85 whooping on the Atlanta Hawks. Forward Kevin Garnett put up 20 points for the cause, shooting 8-of-15 from the floor and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe, adding five rebounds, seven assists, and three blocked shots to the stat line.

Our View:The Celtics enjoyed a bounty of offense this evening with four of the five starters posting double-digit scoring totals, including 22 from Paul Pierce and 19 from Ray Allen. Garnett didn't need his best game to get the win, but even his "easy" approach is worthy of note.
April 29, 2008
There will be no suspensions handed down as a result of the altercation between Kevin Garnett and Zaza Pachulia during Monday's Game 4, according to the Boston Globe. Garnett pushed referee Ed Rush off of him during the skirmish, and Celtics center Kendrick Perkins and Atlanta forward Marvin Williams also stepped slightly on the playing floor from the bench.

Our View:It seemed unlikely that Garnett would receive any punishment, but a suspension for Perkins and Williams had been a distinct possibility.
April 26, 2008
Kevin Garnett led Boston with 32 points on Saturday afternoon, but it wasn't enough as Atlanta stole Game 3 by the score of 102-93 and head into Monday's contest with a chance to even the series.

Our View:The Celtics had manhandled Atlanta all year, beating the Hawks three times during the regular season. While losing a road game in the playoffs isn't surprising, it's how Boston lost that was. The Celtics were out hustled, over run and looked exhausted at the finish today.
April 23, 2008
The Big Ticket was the leader of force as the Boston Celtics took a commanding 2-0 lead in their first-round playoff series against the Atlanta Hawks, winning Game 2, 77-96. Forward Kevin Garnett shot 6-of-18 from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 at the charity stripe to score 19 points, also adding 10 rebounds to complete the double-double effort.

Our View:Garnett has put his best foot forward early in this series, but this is far from his best potential effort. Both Ray Allen and Paul Pierce have been fairly quiet, in large part due to the lackluster effort needed by this Boston team to advance forward against an ill-prepared Atlanta Hawks.
April 22, 2008
Kevin Garnett has been named the Defensive Player of the Year, according to The Boston Globe. Garnett earned the honor by averaging 9.2 boards, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 blocks over 71 games. Garnett tallied 493 points (90 first place votes, 12 second place, seven third place). Denver Nuggets center Marcus Camby finished second with 178 points.

Our View:Garnett fit in very well in Boston this season, and will continue to play at a high level in their bid to win the NBA Title, assuming he'll be healthy.
April 21, 2008
Kevin Garnett missed practice again on Monday due to personal reasons related to the pregnancy of his wife, this according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:The team fully expects Garnett to play in Game 2 as he has been missing a fair amount of practices of late to deal with his family. Garnett had 16 points, 10 boards and four assists in 34 minutes in Game 1, so his game was still strong despite the distractions.
April 19, 2008
Boston forward Kevin Garnett is expected to attend and take part in practice with his team today following two days off, according to Yahoo Sports.

Our View:Garnett was attending to family matters and was excused, but he is back in Boston and should be with the Celtics as they prepare to raid the NBA Playoffs.
April 18, 2008
Kevin Garnett missed his second straight practice on Friday to be with his pregnant wife, but the team isn't concerned and still fully expects him to play on Sunday against the Hawks, this according to the AP.

Our View:We bet that Garnett will be his usual dominating self once the first jump ball is played, so don't be concerned in the least at this point.
April 17, 2008
Kevin Garnett missed practice on Thursday due to a "family matter", this according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:The truth appears to be that Garnett's wife is expected to give birth today, so provided everything goes well Garnett should be back at practice on Friday.
April 14, 2008
Kevin Garnett was given the night off on Monday, the Boston Globe reports.

Our View:KG is clearly tanking again.
April 8, 2008
On a night when the support from the normal sources was failing, the Big Ticket came through once more. Kevin Garnett went 7-of-8 from the floor and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line to score 21 points. The rest of the stats weren’t there, posting just three rebounds and two assists, but with Paul Pierce scoring jut 14 (2-of-6 from three-point range) and Ray Allen only adding 11 (4-of-10 from the field), it was enough to help Boston win, 107-104, over the Bucks.
April 7, 2008
Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen might take the night off on Tuesday, head coach Doc Rivers tells the Boston Globe. Paul Pierce is also not expected to play following the birth of his daughter. Of the three, Allen is the most likely to take the court, Rivers says.
April 2, 2008
Once again it was Kevin Garnett leading the way for the Boston Celtics in a 92-77 win over the Indiana Pacers. Garnett went just 9-of-19 from the field and 2-of-2 from the free-throw line, yet he managed to lead all scorers with 20 points, adding 11 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a blocked shot for good measure. The other members of Team Boston failed to show in big numbers (Ray Allen with 15 points, Paul Pierce with 13), thus the ability of Garnett to excel regardless is nothing short of impressive.
April 2, 2008
Kevin Garnett is back on track following a 12 point effort on March 31, as he poured in 20 points, seven boards, two assists, one steal, and four blocks in Tuesday night's 106-92 win over the Bulls. He is now averaging 20.7 points over his last four games.
March 31, 2008

March 29, 2008
With Boston starting to show some wear on the treads and in need of a big win to get the train back on the tracks and running, Kevin Garnett stepped up and put his team back on the mind, going double-double with 21 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists in the Celtics’ strong 112-92 victory over the New Orleans Hornets. Garnett has come under heat in recent weeks as some question whether he has the killer instinct to put Boston in contention with the top teams in the West. This game should put some ointment on those wounds and show many he is more than capable of putting up big games in big moments.
March 26, 2008
On a night that saw all five Boston starters hit double digits in the point column, Kevin Garnett led the way, going 12-of-19 from the floor and a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line, scoring 30 points with six assists, three rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Boston has shown a bit of vulnerability recently, but tonight shows they may be saving the best for the playoffs as top performances can be brought when needed.
March 24, 2008
Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the period ending March 23, this according to the Sports Network. This marks the second time Garnett has won the award this season. Garnett led the Celtics to three-straight victories over the powerhouses in Texas (Dallas, Houston and San Antonio) before succumbing to Paul's Hornets over the weekend. The recent slump of the Pistons, and their tough matchup with the Suns tonight make Boston the team to beat in the East as the postseason approaches.
March 19, 2008
Kevin Garnett responded to Wolves owner Glen Taylor on Tuesday night, sort of, the Boston Globe reports. Earlier in the day, Taylor accused Garnett of tanking games last season. "I’m in Boston, I could care less what Glen Taylor [says] right now," Garnett tells TNT reporter David Aldridge. "That’s nonsense."
March 15, 2008
Kevin Garnett led the Celtics in scoring with a mere 19 points in their 99-77 win over the Bucks. He only generated two rebounds and two assists as well, to go along with two steals. He is only averaging 17.3 points and four rebounds over his last three games.
March 10, 2008
Kevin Garnett scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in just 32 minutes of action on Monday night as the Celtics won their 50th game for the first time in 16 seasons. Garnett was a terrific 11-for-14 from the field, and a perfect 4-for-4 from the line, but he turned the ball over five times without a single steal or blocked shot.
March 7, 2008
Kevin Garnett chipped in 16 points in a winning effort against the Bulls Friday night, and is now seven points away from 20,000 for his career. He added eight rebounds as well.
March 5, 2008
In Boston's vicious 90-78 victory over the Detroit Pistons, Kevin Garnett scored 31 points with six rebounds, three assist, and one block to lead the way, according to the Associated Press. The win clinches a playoff berth for the Celtics, the first NBA team to do so, and sends a firm message to the other hot team in the East.
February 26, 2008
The Celtics blew out the Clippers 104-76 on Monday night, and as a result the club was able to rest Kevin Garnett who played only 24 minutes in the game. As a result of the limited minutes, Garnett scored 11 points on just 5-for-11 shotting and he pulled only six boards with four assists. In five games since returning to action, Garnett has failed to record 20-points in a game and he has only one double-digit rebounding effort.
February 23, 2008
Kevin Garnett had 17 points and 15 boards in his first game back in action and he followed that up with 19 points, five boards and four assists on Friday night. Garnett saw 32 minutes of action and made 8 of 17 shots as the high point getter for the Celtics who lost their third straight game for the first time this year.
February 20, 2008
Kevin Garnett said he "absolutely" will play Wednesday night after returning from his abdominal strain on Tuesday, but the call will be up to coach Doc Rivers, according to the Boston Herald. "I felt good . . . no pain actually, no discomfort," Garnett said. "I’m trying to get my legs under me a little bit. There’s nothing that can simulate the game, the speed and how much you’ve got to anticipate different things. But for the most part, it was OK. It was good for me." KG looked good last night, but he played just 25 minutes and scored four points. Even if he suits up this evening, he likely will see limited minutes to avoid a setback.
February 20, 2008
Kevin Garnett, who's been out since Jan. 25 with a strained abdominal muscle, was back in the lineup Tuesday night in Denver, even if he wasn't his flashy self. The power forward finished with four points on 2-of-7 shooting in 21 minutes of action as the Celtics dropped their first game to a Western Conference team, 124-118 notes ESPN.com. "It was good to get back," said Garnett, who planned to play Wednesday night at Golden State. "It felt good. "Garnett also grabbed eight rebounds in his limited playing time.
February 19, 2008
Coach Doc Rivers said it's "50-50" whether Kevin Garnett returns to the lineup tonight, according to the Boston Globe. KG has said he's ready to return from his abdominal strain, but the final decision will be up to Rivers. We're putting our money on Garnett suiting up.
February 19, 2008
Kevin Garnett says he's ready to return to the lineup after going through practice Monday night. "I feel great," Garnett said in the AP. "It felt good. For the most part, it was good to be out there battling, going over some things and helping the team to get better. It's just good to be out [there], to tell you the truth. It felt good." The decision on whether Garnett returns from his abdominal strain Tuesday will be up to coach Doc Rivers, though. If KG does play tonight, his minutes figure to be limited.
February 18, 2008
Kevin Garnett told the Boston Globe that he hopes to play Tuesday at Denver and feels comfortable he will be available. However, he added that he will know more after Monday's practice and even if he does play, it will be on a limited basis initially. Owners who have other options, should leave him out of the starting lineup for one more week.
February 16, 2008
Kevin Garnett tells the Boston Globe that he is aiming to return to action against the Nuggets on Tuesday. He has been out since January 25 due to a strained abdominal muscle. We won't be certain about his status until after practices on Monday, which means fantasy owners will be gambling if they use him in the week ahead.
February 15, 2008
Kevin Garnett skipped the All Star media session he was required to attend, according to league policy. If a player is voted in as a starter by his peers and the fans, the player is required to attend specific functions, Garnett miss one of those mandatory sessions. According to the Boston Globe, he is not playing in Sunday's game because of his abdominal muscle strain, but is currently in New Orleans taking part in the festivities.
February 13, 2008
Kevin Garnett told the Boston Globe that he is getting better and is running, but he has yet to return to basketball activity. Coach Doc Rivers is hoping KG, who's dealing with an abdominal strain, will be ready to play next Tuesday, but he's not going to push his superstar, saying that Garnett will suit up only if he is 100 percent.
February 12, 2008

February 10, 2008
Kevin Garnett appears almost certain to miss the upcoming All-Star game after sitting out a seventh straight game with strained stomach muscle. "We don't know that yet," HC Doc Rivers said. However, he also added this. "I just don't see that happening." Whether or not he plays in the game is obviously of little concern. Garnett is the anchor of any fantasy team he plays on so his return to the lineup is vital to those teams' chances of winning, so keep an eye on reports for his return as the Celtics have gone 5-2 in their last seven games. AP
February 9, 2008
The odds that Kevin Garnett is able to take part in the All-Star game next weekend? "If he can play, he's going to play," coach Doc Rivers said, according to the Boston Globe. "If he's hurt, he's not going to play. Right now, I say it's 50-50." Rivers said he didn't expect KG to return from his abdominal strain for Sunday's run with the Spurs, but it's possible he could get back in the mix for the final two games before the break. Considering their entire season hinges on his health, prudence may keep him pined until after the hiatus.
February 8, 2008
Kevin Garnett did't attend the Celtics' shootaround in Minneapolis this morning and will not play this evening against his old T-Wolves squad, according to the Boston Herald. KG will be announced before the starting lineup to give the fans a chance to show their appreciation, then he'll head back to the locker room. It remains unclear when he'll ball again, but it may not be until after the All-Star break.
February 5, 2008
As expected, Kevin Garnett will not lace up for tonight's game due to his ailing abdominal strain, according to the Boston Herald. Coach Doc Rivers said today that the next possibility for KG to hit the floor would be for Sunday's run with the Spurs, though even that might be pushing it. That means you can count him out for what was to be his return to Minnesota on Friday. At this point, you can simply consider him to be out indefinitely, and with the All-Star break right around the corner, common sense might keep him on the pine until the season resumes following the hiatus.

Coach Doc Rivers doesn't think Kevin Garnett's abdominal strain will improve enough over the next few days to allow the forward to play in his homecoming to Minnesota Friday. He's already missed three games with the injury, and if he is out at least through Friday, that will be another three contests, according to the Boston Globe. There is no timetable for his return.

Kevin Garnett has missed three straight games with an abdominal strain, and that count is expected to rise, according to the Boston Globe. Celtics coach Doc Rivers continued to say that Garnett's injury is no worse than first believed. Garnett most likely is out for Tuesday night’s game in Cleveland and Wednesday’s home affair with the Clippers. “There’s no date (for his return),” Rivers said. “It could be as early as this weekend or it could be after All-Star break (Feb. 15-17). Now this break’s over and he’s not back, but he had four days of no games, so that was a benefit. Hopefully, he’s back before All-Star break, but if he’s not, then we have that whole break, as well.”

Kevin Garnett was held out of Sunday's contest due to the abdominal strain that he sustained during Friday's game, and it sounds like he may miss some more action, according to the Boston Globe. "He may play Tuesday [at Miami], may. But I doubt that," said coach Doc Rivers. "I just think we go day to day with it. It's just not worth taking a chance." With half of the season left and the best record in the league, there's absolutely no way the Celtics will risk putting KG on the floor until there's no chance of further damaging the muscle in his abdomen. Stay tuned, but it appears likely he'll miss some more action.

Kevin Garnett missed about four minutes of the fourth quarter Friday due to an abdominal strain, according to the AP. "It felt like I got sniped from the rafters or something, you know," Garnett said. "I just had a sharp pain come from my stomach and I just wanted the doctors to look at it. They looked at it and said I was fine, so I came back out." Although the doctor cleared him to play, the Celtics' trainer did not, at least until KG talked coach Doc Rivers into putting him back on the floor. KG has always been durable, but he's 31 years old now, and the Celtics will be extremely cautious with their superstar if this turns out to be anything that could linger.
