Guard Chucky Atkins could make his debut for the Thunder on Saturday night against the Bulls. "He picks things up pretty quickly," head coach Scott Brooks tells the Oklahoman. "We’re happy where he is after just one day. He already has a lot of stuff down."

Our View:Atkins isn't likely to see much time with the Thunder. Rookie point guard Russell Westbrook is learning on the job, and Earl Watson averages nearly 26 minutes at the top backup.

The Denver Nuggets have traded Chucky Atkins to the Oklahoma City Thunder for center Johan Petro, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:As part of the deal, the Nuggets have agreed to trade their first-round pick in the 2009 draft in exchange for Oklahoma City's second-round pick.

The Nuggets are looking to make a deal by the February 19 trade deadline, and Chucky Atkins or center Steven Hunter could be moved, according to the Rocky Mountain News.

Our View:Atkins would like to leave Denver as he is only playing 8.3 minutes per game. The Nuggets covet a big man, and are keeping tabs on the Thunder's Chris Wilcox, Joe Smith and Nick Collison.
