Andrei Kirilenko has been chosen to carry the Russian flag at the opening ceremonies of the Olympics on Friday, according to the Deseret News.

Our View:Thanks to a shoulder injury sustained by Maria Sharapova, Kirilenko has been given the honor.

Andrei Kirilenko missed practice on Thursday so that he could finalize a travel visa for his family, according to the Associated Press. Apparently, this was the only day he could pick up the visa, or he would have to wait another month. He received permission from the club to miss the practice.

Our View:Uh, great timing Andrei. Management can't be happy about this given that the Jazz's season is on the line, but it is what it is. Look for him to be active in Game 6.

Game 4 was the first contest of the series that Andrei Kirilenko didn't foul out.

Our View:The reason: Kobe's (Kirilenko's defensive assignment) bad back and tweaked ankle. The league's MVP wasn't nearly as difficult to guard with the ailments.
