Since Shawn Marion has chose not to opt out of his contract, several trade rumors have swarmed the All-Star forward. The Miami Herald reports that Marion has not been offered for Carlos Boozer, Elton Brand, or Baron Davis as was reported earlier in the week.

Our View:Marion may be on the trading block with Michael Beasley apparently coming to the roster. However, his $17.8 million expiring contract, as well as his production, is valuable to the Heat.

"I spoke to Shawn again tonight and we've decided that he's not going to opt out," Marion's agent, Dan Fegan said. "It just wasn't in Shawn's best interest. That's all I can really say about it right now."

Shawn Marion is "highly unlikely" to opt out of the final year of his contract before the deadline on Tuesday, agent Dan Fegan informs the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. The forward is due to earn $17.8 million for the 2008-09 season.

The Heat have intentions to continue contract negotiations with four-time All-Star Shawn Marion this weekend, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View:Marion must notify the Heat and the NBA league office by Tuesday whether he would opt out of the $17.8 million he is set to earn next season. If Marion opts out, he would become a free agent July 1 and could sign with any club, including the Heat, when the league's moratorium expires July 9.

Shawn Marion told the Miami Herald that he ''definitely'' would like a contract extension and will have agent Dan Fegan ask the Heat for one this summer -- even though Miami's seemingly in no position to do that because it wants big cap space in 2009.

Our View:Regardless of his future with the Heat, Marion's not expected to opt out of the last year of his deal worth $17.4 million, not in the league's current cap climate.
