Sean Marks will miss the Hornets' season opener on Wednesday due to a strained calf, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:Marks doesn't have any fantasy value at this time.

Sean Marks will not play in Sunday's preseason opener against the Warriors due to a strained right calf, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Our View:He is getting better, but the team is holding him out as a precaution to prevent the risk of the injury becoming more severe. The backup center only averages 3.1 points over his NBA career, and his fantasy stock will not improve in New Orleans.

Sean Marks has inked a deal with the Hornets, according to the AP. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. Hornets' GM Jeff Bower said, "We are excited for Sean to join our team. He is a veteran leader who has been on winning teams and will be a great addition to our frontcourt."

Our View:The 6-foot-10, 250-pounder is a nine-year veteran of the NBA, and provides the versatility to play center or power forward. He will provide favorable depth in New Orleans, but won't be fantasy worthy.

The bulk of the starters for the Phoenix Suns saw limited playing time this evening, giving veteran forward Sean Marks a rare chance to shine. Marks played 24 minutes, going 6-of-8 from the field with 3-of-4 from the free-throw line to score 16 points, adding 13 rebounds to the effort to secure the double-double, his first (and, obviously, his last) double-double of the season.
