Tracy McGrady underwent left shoulder and left knee surgeries on Tuesday. He had loose particles but no structural damage in the knee. His shoulder contained a slight labrum tear, as well as loose particles, the Houston Chronicle reports. McGrady will need three months to fully recover.

Our View:We hope T-Mac used his 2-for-1 surgery coupon. He is coming off a solid postseason against the Jazz and will have good fantasy value in 2008-09. As usual, though, McGrady will be knocked down the cheatsheets because he's injury-prone.

Tracy McGrady had a considerable amount of swelling in his left knee on Wednesday, but he is not worried about his playing status for Friday versus Utah, according to the Houston Chronicle. He said, "I was in there getting a lot of treatment. The knee is pretty swollen today. I don't think it helped immediately, but I'm not concerned." He also commented that he has been finishing with his left hand because he can get better lift when jumping off his stronger right leg.

Our View:McGrady has been held in check during the series with Utah, but broke loose for 29 points in Game 5. It sounds like he will be good to go for Friday.

For the Houston Rockets to emerge victorious in a daunting Game 5 playoff scenario that could have been their last game of the season is impressive. Reviewing the box score and understanding what guard Tracy McGrady had to accomplish to seal that win makes the victory that much more astounding. McGrady shot 13-of-26 from the field to score 29 points in leading his team to the win, also adding five rebounds and five assist.

Our View:It was a defensive effort that kept the Rockets intact, but consider this: Three of the five starters for Houston combined to shoot just 7-of-19 from the floor. Only forward Luis Scola managed to keep pace (scoring 18 with 12 rebounds), yet the Rockets managed to stay alive against a very good Utah squad.
