Kobe Bryant rolled up 38 points and seven assists in Tuesday's win over Phoenix. The only down side of the game for Bryant was his occasionally-sloppy ballhanding; he finished the day with a game-high eight turnovers.

Kobe Bryant said Saturday that his strained left groin was feeling better, according to the LA Times. Kobe's scoring touch has been off a bit due to the injury, but he hasn't looked hobbled while playing and still has put up solid numbers. If he drops 20 points on the Knicks at MSG Sunday, he'll become the youngest player to reach 20,000 points. So expect Kobe to lace 'em up and put on a show.

He sustained a slight tear in his left quadriceps during Friday's game, though he completed the contest. It doesn't sound like it's anything serious, but the Lakers could play it cautiously and rest their superstar Sunday.

Kobe Bryant had a solid game Tuesday despite a nasty stomach flu, finishing with 20 points, five assists and four steals in just 28 minutes at Minnesota. It will be intersting to see how he bounces back for Wednesday's game at Denver.

Kobe Bryant was lustily booed by the home crowd before Tuesday's opening-night loss to Houston. The Staples Center crowd took it easy on him after that, in part because Bryant piled up 45 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals. The Rockets certainly made Bryant work for every point, however: Bryant was 13-for-32 from the field, and 18-for-27 from the line. His sore wrist seemed to be bothering him a little bit, but it wasn't a major issue.

The Lakers and Bulls have been having daily discussions about Kobe Bryant trade possibilities for at least the past week, with Bryant's no-trade clause throwing a unique wrench into the situation, ESPN.com reports. Bryant sat out Friday's preseason game with a sore wrist, but he's expected to play in Tuesday's season opener, assuming he's still with the Lakers.

But Chicago general manager John Paxson told the AP that a deal to bring Bryant to the Bulls is unlikely – and sent a text message to Bryant telling him as much. “What we would have to give up – unless that franchise would ever have a change of heart and had to do something – I don’t know how that would work,” Paxson said. “They’ve got one of the top, maybe the top, talents in the league. What we would have to do to get there, I don’t even know what it would be. It would be significant. And then, are we better?”

Kobe Bryant met with Lakers owner Jerry Buss in Spain on Friday to discuss the superstar's status. A source with knowledge of the situation said that Bryant reiterated his demand to be traded, according to the LA Times. At this point, the Lakers don't plan to acquiesce in the hope they can work things out with Bryant. That said, they will have to make some legitimate improvements if they are going to placate Kobe and become genuine contenders.

Kobe Bryant backed off his trade demand Wednesday after talking with head coach Phil Jackson, the AP reports. Earlier in the day Bryant had said, emphatically, that he wanted a change of scenery. Here's what Kobe's take was by the end of the crazy day: "I don't want to go anywhere, this is my team," Bryant told KLAC radio. "I love it here. I called Phil, man, he and I talked, it was an emotional conversation, but he just said, 'You know what, Kobe? Let us try to figure this thing out.' "

Kobe Bryant wants a change of scenery. “I would like to be traded, yeah,” Bryant told ESPN radio. “Tough as it is to come to that conclusion, there is no other alternative.” According to the Associated Press, Bryant also said there was nothing the team could do to change his mind. He reached the milestone at 28 years, 223 days and in 776 career games. Michael Jordan was the youngest previously, doing so at 29 years, 62 days. Bryant became the 42nd player to accomplish the feat.
