Player Notes
March 15, 2010
Ray Allen chipped in 15 points in tonight's 119-93 home win over the Pistons. He also had two assists.

Our View:Allen got the job done for Boston, and is averaging 16.2 points over his last four games. The 34-year-old vet still has a bit left in the tank for fantasy owners.
March 14, 2010
Ray Allen banged in a team-high 20 points in Sunday's 104-93 loss at Cleveland. He also had six rebounds and five assists.

Our View:Allen was on target today, and made 3-of-5 shots from three-point range. He reached at least 20 points for the second time this month, previously scoring 25 versus Washington on March 7.
March 10, 2010
Ray Allen chipped in 17 points in tonight's 111-91 home loss to the Grizzlies. He also had four rebounds, one assist and one steal.

Our View:Allen could have scored more points, but missed all six of his shots from three-point range. He still bounced back well after being held to three points in his previous contest at Milwaukee.
March 7, 2010
Ray Allen led the Celtics with 25 points and grabbed a pair of rebounds in Sunday's 86-83 win over the Wizards.

Our View:Allen was 10-of-15 from the field and made some noise from behind the arc, hitting four of his six attempts. The performance was his best since February 5th, when he dropped 26 on the Nets.
February 23, 2010
Ray Allen led Boston with 24 points in a win over the Knicks on Tuesday.

Our View:Allen only had one three-pointer but shot an efficient 9-of-14 from the field. He's now topped 20 points for four straight games and should be asked to carry a bigger-than-usual scoring load while Paul Pierce is temporarily out with a sore thumb.
February 21, 2010
Ray Allen led the Celtics with 25 points and chipped in with five rebounds and four assists on Sunday, but they fell 114-105 to the Nuggets.

Our View:Allen had his shot going in the game, hitting 9-of-14 and helped out owners with a 2-for-5 effort from behind the arc. He's now topped 20 points five times this month and is playing arguably his best ball of the season in February.

Ray Allen is very unlikely to get dealt before this afternoon's trading deadline, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Our View:That's according to "multiple team sources." Of course, if Monta Ellis, or another player of his ilk, becomes available at the 11th hour, that could change. Stay tuned.
February 16, 2010
Ray Allen (back) plans to play on Tuesday night against the Kings, according to the Boston Herald.

Our View:He sat out Boston's most recent game, which was last Wednesday. Considering that is the only game he has missed this season, he is a safe start this week.
February 12, 2010
The Celtics' upper management has discussed a deal with Washington that would send Ray Allen, Brian Scalabrine and J.R. Giddens the Wizards in exchange for Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Our View:The deal would give Washington a trio of expiring contracts as it looks to rebuild, while instantly rejuvenating Boston as one of the teams, if not the team, to beat in the East. With the trade deadline less than a week away, you can expect to hear plenty more out of Boston and Washington heading into Feb. 18.
February 10, 2010
According to the Boston Globe, Ray Allen has been held out of Wednesday's game against the Hornets due to back spasms.

Our View:Allen was a last second DNP, so there's not much owners can do here. The injury doesn't seem to be too serious though as he participated in today's shootaround. Allen played in the first 49 games of the season, so we expect him back for the Celtics' next contest.
February 10, 2010
The Boston Globe reports that the Celtics are "fielding an increasing amount of calls" about shooting guard Ray Allen.

Our View:Allen has a huge expiring contract, which is likely what is catching potential trade partners' eyes, and not his deadly three-point shooting. So far, Celts GM Danny Ainge has said he is not shopping Allen.
February 5, 2010
Ray Allen led the Celtics with 26 points and gathered seven rebounds and two assists in a 96-87 win over the Nets.

Our View:Allen hit 9-of-17 from the field and nailed down three of his seven attempts from downtown. Allen's effort on Friday gave him back to back 20-point games for just the third time this season. He does appear to be heating up though.
February 3, 2010
Ray Allen scored a team-high 23 points and collected seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in Wednesday's win over the Heat.

Our View:Allen was 7-of-15 from the field and hit one of five attempts from downtown. He now has 23 and 17 points in his last two games, respectively, after putting up seven and nine-point stinkers in his previous two.
February 2, 2010
Searching for a "younger, less expensive guard and an expiring contract" in return, the Celtics have placed guard Ray Allen on the trading block, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Our View:He has a $20 million expriing contract, and with the Celtics having no interest in re-signing him next summer, they would like to get something in return for him instead of simply letting him walk. Although the team was previously linked to Monta Ellis, that speculation proved to be unfounded. Expect some more concrete scenarios to emerge in the coming days.
January 31, 2010
Ray Allen flopped on Sunday against the Lakers, putting up just seven points and five rebounds in a 90-89 loss.

Our View:Allen hit just 2-of-10 field goals and whiffed on all six attempts from downtown. He has been miserable lately, putting up single-digit point totals in five of his last eight games. Expect the talented scorer to improve, and you may be able to get him at a bargain price due to his recent struggles.
January 28, 2010
Ray Allen stood out for the Celtics on Thursday as he drained 20 points and picked up three rebounds, three assists and two blocks in a nail-biting 96-94 win over the Magic.

Our View:Allen was accurate in this one, hitting 8-of-12 field goals and 4-of-8 shots from behind the arc. He reached the 20-point plateau for the fourth time this month.
January 26, 2010
CSN New England is reporting that Ray Allen could be shipped to Golden State as part of a deal for super-talented young guard Monta Ellis.

Our View:Allen, while obviously part of the Celtics' dominant core, is aging and has an expiring contract. This move would help the Warriors clear cap space next summer, and make the Celtics younger. It seems a bit far-fetched that the C's would make this the moment where they tinkered with their ballyhooed trio of stars, but it would make sense. Stay tuned.
January 2, 2010
Ray Allen led the Celtics with 23 points in Saturday's 103-96 win over the Raptors. He also notched two rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Our View:The 34-year-old vet continues to get the job done for Boston, and reached at least 20 points for the fourth time in his last seven games.
