Blake Griffin will undergo season-ending surgery sometime in the near future to fix the stress fracture in his left kneecap, according to NBA.com.

Our View:This news puts the cap on what's been an incredibly frustrating rehabilitation process for Griffin, whose timetable has been continually pushed back ever since he suffered the injury in the Clippers' last preseason game on Oct. 23. Griffin will apparently need four to six months to recover following surgery, so he should be fine by the start of next season. Like Greg Oden two years before him, Griffin will have a chance to vie for Rookie of the Year honors the season after he was drafted No. 1 overall.

Blake Griffin continues to progress in his recovery from a stress fracture in his left kneecap, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Our View:Griffin may return to practice next week, but possibly only for running and shooting. It remains uncertain when he may be cleared for full practice, or when the No. 1 pick will make his season debut with the Clippers.

Refuting an earlier report that said Blake Griffin (knee) would make his NBA debut on January 20, the Clippers insist they have no set date for the number one pick's first game, according to Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times.

Our View:They didn't say he wouldn't return on January 20, only that they have not attached a date to anything. Taking into account how many times his return has already been delayed, consider early February the most likely time for his debut.

The Clippers are targeting January 20 as Blake Griffin's (knee) NBA debut, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Our View:That will be their final home game before departing on an eight-game road trip. Griffin's debut has already been delayed several times, so don't be surprised if this date doesn't end up being set in stone.
