D.J. Strawberry was waived by the Rockets Friday, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:Strawberry will catch on somewhere, but he won't have any fantasy value.

D.J. Strawberry remains in the running to make the Rockets' roster, according to the Houston Chronicle. He signed an amendment to his contract in the Arco Arena visitors locker room before Thursday’s game.

Our View:Strawberry’s contract was to become guaranteed if he was on the team October 29. Because the Rockets would have put him on waivers for him to be cleared and released in time, he agreed to amend the contract to remove the guarantee, allowing the Rockets to take one more day to choose between him and Von Wafer. Neither player would hold much fantasy value while fighting for minutes on a deep and talented club.

D.J. Strawberry scored 20 points, including three 3-pointers in the Rockets 101-97 victory over the Grizzlies. Von Wafer also blew up off the bench hitting seven three-pointers on his way to 23 points on just 13 shots.

Our View:Strawberry had a rough rookie season seeing action in just 33 games when he averaged less than nine minutes a game. This was a nice outing, but not one to pin your hopes on moving forward.
