Player Notes
October 11, 2008
Guard Arron Afflalo led the Pistons with 28 points in Saturday's preseason win over the Bucks. He hit 10-of-12 shots from the floor (including two threes) and sunk 6-of-7 at the line. Afflalo added two rebounds, two assists, and two steals over 25 minutes.

Our View:It looks like the Bucks defense is already in midseason form. Afflalo could see increased minutes this season, but he won't have any fantasy value unless an injury takes out Rip Hamilton.

Arron Afflalo led the Pistons to a 85-71 win over the Bucs. The guard scored 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting and was perfect from behind the arc in three attempts.

Our View:There is word out of Detroit that Afflalo could see some more playing time in 2008-2009. If he sees his time increase, you can expect his numbers to increase.

The Detroit News suggests that Arron Afflalo could see a boost in playing time this season and his minutes can potentially double from last season.

Our View:Afflalo averaged 3.7 points over 13 minutes per game in 2007-08. He would challenge double digits in scoring if his minutes doubled, and could prove to be a favorable late-round pick in deeper fantasy leagues.

The Pistons exercised a team option for Arron Afflalo on Thursday, extending his contract through the 2009-2010 season, according to NBA.com.

Arron Afflalo continues to work on his game, and he spent countless hours at the Pistons' practice facility improving his shooting touch and working on displaying more athleticism, according to MLive.com. Afflalo led all scorers with 25 points on 8-for-10 shooting from the field in Sunday's win over the Clippers in summer league play. Coach Michael Curry said, "You're always glad to see everyone play well. But especially him because you see how hard he works, and puts in the time to improve his game. I've always said, when Arron plays consistent minutes, he shoots the ball consistently."

Our View:Afflalo's hard work should pay off, and he is expected to play consistent minutes in the rotation as the team's backup shooting guard to Richard Hamilton. He could rank as a late-round sleeper for next season.
