NorthJersey.com reports that Sean Williams has made big strides over the summer according to Vince Carter. “He’s definitely made strides forward, 100 percent,” Carter added. “I’m happy for him...His growth is tremendous.”

Our View:If Williams earns 25-plus minutes per game he will be a lock for two or more blocks per game. He is a classic category specialist. Keep an eye on how Lawrence Frank uses this season.

Sean Williams got his first career start Saturday and didn't disappoint, finishing with 22 points, eight rebounds and two blocks over 35 minutes. A lot of teams are wondering how they let the Nets get this steal with the 17th overall pick in the 2007 draft.

Nets rookie forward Sean Williams has been impressive thus far in his first training camp and could be earning himself a valuable role off the bench. "I think Sean has had some good moments, which is very, very encouraging," coach Lawrence Frank told the New York Daily News. "Like any young player there are going to be a lot of days when you don't see that. But he's had some good moments and we've just got to build on it. He's done some eye-opening things."

Our View:Williams won’t be much for offense, but if he gets 15 minutes per night at power forward or center, he could contribute rebounds and the always valuable blocked shot. Williams blocked 75 shots in just 15 games at Boston College last year.
