The Washington Post reports that Andray Blatche will start on Wednesday against the Bucks, despite being benched in his last game. Center Etan Thomas will miss the game with a sprained ankle. "We want it to sort of jump start him for the remainder of the season. Not just a flash tonight. We want him to give great effort and play his role and carry it to tomorrow's practice and the weekend."

Our View:As long as he can stay out of foul trouble, expect a strong performance from Blatche. Coach Eddie Jordan was displeased with Blatche's effort in the Detroit game, and called him out after the game.

The Washington Post reports that after four minutes of action on Saturday, Andray Blatche was benched by coach Eddie Jordan. "You give guys a chance and the opportunity is there for them. If you give great effort, you get the benefit of the doubt." Jordan said. "If there's not enough effort there and not enough sincere play, you are not going to play."

Our View:It would appear that Blatche has landed in the doghouse and Darius Songaila will likely see his minutes for the time being. However, at some point this season, Blatche will see big minutes and when he does be prepared to pick him up.

Andray Blatche filled in nicely for the injured Brendan Haywood and Antawn Jamison in Tueday night's preseason opener against Dallas. The big man had 18 points, five rebounds, two steals and a block in 26 minutes.

Our View:The Wizards have always been very high on Blatche and if the injuries hold up, he will be a big part of the team this season.
