NewsOK reports that center Robert Swift could play on Saturday. He is recovering from a fractured hand.

Our View:Swift may play due to Yao Ming's hugeness. However, the Thunder are too deep at the position to expect quality minutes this season from Swift.

Robert Swift returned to practice on Friday but he sat out the end of the day due to some lingering soreness in his fractured hand, according to NewsOK.

Our View:Swift appeared in only eight games last season and will have to overcome more than just his injured hand to see substantial minutes this season.

The Oklahoman reports that Robert Swift said he is likely to miss a portion of the preseason schedule with a fractured right hand on the team's first media day. He said he should be healed in another week or two but will participate in drills with a protective brace for now.

Our View:The injury was previously believed to keep him out of the entire preseason but he seems to think he will be back sooner. Swift does not hold any fantasy value as long as Nick Collison and Chris Wilcox remain healthy.

Thunder big man Robert Swift has a broken bone in his right hand, and is not going to be able to fully participate in training camp or preseason games, according to the Oklahoman.

Our View:Swift has been a bust since being drafted with the 12th overall pick in the 2004 NBA draft. He had surgery on his knee last year, which is also hampering his ability some.

Robert Swift re-signed with the Oklahoma Thunder on Thursday though terms of the deal were not announced, according to the Associated Press. “We are pleased to have Robert back with our organization,” Thunder GM Sam Presti said. “We look forward to his contributions this season.”

Our View:Swift was the 12th pick in the 2004 draft and he has failed to make his mark in his brief career. At this point, only the twisted in the head would waste a pick on Swift.

The Sonics have extended a $3.6 million, one-year qualifying offer to center Robert Swift , according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

Our View:Swift's vast potential has been greatly hampered by a string of knee injuries, resulting in multiple surgeries. The team feels he can still round into form and contribute, thus they are going to take the gamble and keep Swift on the roster.

The Sonics are expected to make a qualifying offer to Robert Swift, hence allowing the team to match any offers for the restricted free agent center, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

Our View:Swift has played in only eight games over the past two seasons because of two knee surgeries, and has averaged 4.6 points and 4.0 rebounds over 71 games over the past three seasons. He was Seattle's 12th overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft.

Robert Swift will undergo another knee surgery on March 4 and is out for the year, according to the AP. Swift had surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee in November of 2006. This surgery will repair a torn lateral meniscus in the same knee. Swift has played just eight games since the 2005-06 season, and it wouldn't be a surprise if he's never the same player again (though he wasn't that good to begin with).

Robert Swift sustained a torn meniscus in his right knee during Thursday's game, according to the Seattle Times. The Sonics didn't have any other information available about Swift, but it seems likely that his season will be over. Knee problems already have limited Swift to just eight games thus far.

Robert Swift returned to action Tuesday for the first time since suffering complications with his surgically repaired right knee in mid November. He played just six fourth-quarter minutes and had four points, but the important thing is that his knee held up. "It [the knee] felt pretty good," Swift told the Seattle Times. "I've been doing a lot of conditioning, which of course is nothing like playing and getting the conditioning while actually playing, but it felt good and there were no problems with the knee. I was not as bad as I thought I would be."

Robert Swift said he'll find out Friday if he can return to game action on Saturday, according to the Seattle Times. "There's no pain or swelling in the knee after I work out," he said. "I'm ready to go." Swift has been recovering from tendinitis in his surgically repaired knee. He'll be limited to about 12-15 minutes per game initially, but he's worth keeping an eye on if he manages to get up to full speed later in the season.

Robert Swift had his sore knee examined on Wednesday. The doctor said the tendinitis is normal and that Swift may be able to return to practice in a couple of weeks, according to the Seattle Times. He's also dealing with some plantar fasciitis, so we aren't likely to see him in game action until next month.
