Player Notes
December 2, 2008
Devin Harris had 18 points, two assists, and two rebounds in Tuesday's 108-88 loss to Washington.

Our View:This is a down from last week, when Harris was named the player of the week for the Eastern Conference, but he's probably more likely to stay closer to his season average of 25 points than last week's average of 30 points-per-game. Harris would also benefit from the Nets playing better, as they got blown out by the lowly Wizards.
December 1, 2008
Nets guard Devin Harris was named the NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for last week, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:Harris averaged a league-best 30 points per game on .535 shooting and added 6.8 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game last week. He also added a 47 point game against the Suns.

Our View:Hopefully you are not a Dallas fan. This season, Harris has shown a Dwyane Wade-like ability to get to the hole followed by one to the free-throw line. He has accumulated 81 points and 30 trips to the foul line in his last two games.
November 30, 2008
Devin Harris had another monster game for the Nets on Saturday, finishing with 34 points, six assists, four rebounds, and three steals.

November 22, 2008
Devin Harris continued an exceptional season on Friday as he and Vince Carter led the Nets to a big road victory in Toronto. He finished with 30 points, five assists and three steals.

Our View:The former Maverick has scored 30 or more in his last four games and leads all point guards in scoring this season.
November 18, 2008
Devin Harris continues to score in bunches for the Nets, putting up 23 on Tuesday. He also had four assists, three rebounds, and two steals.

Our View:Harris is a fantastic fantasy player right now, scoring 20+ in the last four games that he's played.
November 15, 2008
Devin Harris is on fire for the Nets. He has put up 63 points total in back-to-back nights for New Jersey, including 33 on Saturday. Harris also had 10 assists, three rebounds, and two steals in the Nets 119-107 win over the Hawks.

November 14, 2008
Devin Harris scored 30 points for the Nets as they handed the Hawks their second straight loss. He also added eight assists, six rebounds, and two steals after being listed as probable for the game.

November 12, 2008
The Star-Ledger reports that Devin Harris will not play on Wednesday against the Pacers. Coach Lawrence Frank is expecting him to be ready to go on Friday against Atlanta.

Our View:Harris was averaging 18.8 points and 4.8 assists through his first four games. Keyon Dooling will get the start against Indiana, but the report for Harris' return should be viewed as optimistic.
November 11, 2008
Devin Harris missed his second straight game Monday due to his sprained left ankle, and the Nets are considering adding a point guard as Harris may miss another game, according to the NY Post.

November 10, 2008
Devin Harris is expected to miss his second straight game Monday against Miami due to his sprained left ankle, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:We'll keep you updated on Harris' status for Monday's game.

October 20, 2008
Guard Devin Harris shook off his previous poor performance and led the Nets with 21 points on Monday night. He chipped in three assists, four rebounds, and two steals.

Our View:It's a big season for Harris, whose numbers jumped after joining the Nets last year. He could be a breakout candidate if the Nets can find some consistency.
October 19, 2008
Devin Harris shot 0-for-8 in Sunday's 66-83 loss to Boston. He finished with four points and five assists in 23 minutes.

Devin Harris chipped in 14 points in Sunday's 94-92 preseason win over the Heat, to go along with two assists.

October 9, 2008
Point guard Devin Harris showed plenty of offense in the Nets' 100-98 overtime win against the Heat in Paris, France. He scored 21 points, had two steals and two assists.

Our View:Harris was the primary offensive option after Vince Carter left the game. He seems a good bet to eclipse his career high 14.8 points per game from last season.
September 29, 2008
Devin Harris injured his back during Monday's scrimmage and did not return to the court, according to the NY Post.

Our View:He is just dealing with stiffness, and is expected to be fine. He is working to be the Nets' starting point guard in 2008, hence making him a solid late-round fantasy pick.

Devin Harris is embracing his role as a veteran leader for the Nets, according to the NY Daily News. He said, "This is a new kind of situation for me, being just five years into the league and being one of the most experienced guys out there, guys looking for me to help out. I had guys to look up to in Dallas, and now I'm kind of that guy."

Our View:Harris is only 25 years old, but is still one of just eight Nets with at least that many years in the league. When he played for Dallas, they had several veterans around to show him the way. Harris looks to be a solid late-round fantasy pick, as he averaged 14.8 points and 5.8 assists over 64 games in 2007.
May 23, 2008
Devin Harris isn't immune to the recent rumors which suggest he could be part of a package that could land Carmelo Anthony in New Jersey. "I heard some rumors. I'm curious. You've got to figure we're going to do something, whether it's a big monster deal or changing some of our role players," Harris tells the New York Post. "I think it's more retooling, but it is the NBA, things happen every summer."

Our View:We'd agree that the Nets seem more like a team in need of smaller moves, not huge trades. Plus, Harris looks like he could be a pretty good point guard and a future building block.
April 12, 2008

He also added five assists and accomplished it all in just 21 minutes on the court for the Nets. What a debut. Don't set the bar too high Devin cause as great as you were tonight, you are no Jason Kidd, at least not yet.

Devin Harris might be able to practice as soon as Wednesday, according to the New York Post. "Optimistically," coach Lawrence Frank said, "there's a chance he could go through his first practice tomorrow and then we'll just kind of go from there. The whole thing is kind of how he feels, his conditioning." Practicing on his sprained ankle would be a good sign, but he's been out long enough that his conditioning will be an issue. Consider him week-to-week and hope he can hit the hardwood for practice on Wednesday.

But first, he'll need to actually get on the court. In the meantime, Marcus Williams will run the point and could have some short-term value.
February 19, 2008

February 18, 2008
Losing Steve Nash in 2004; then trading for Devin Harris and Jerry Stackhouse in a package for All-Star Antawn Jamison doesn't look so good in hindsight according to the Star-Telegram. The recent agreement in principal for Jason Kidd essentially means the team has given up on Harris -- and for a point guard that is 35, a year older than Nash. The Star described the newest trade between the Nets and Mavs on Monday morning. "This isn't back to square one; it's back to minus-1."
