Devin Harris injured his back during Monday's scrimmage and did not return to the court, according to the NY Post.

Our View:He is just dealing with stiffness, and is expected to be fine. He is working to be the Nets' starting point guard in 2008, hence making him a solid late-round fantasy pick.

Devin Harris is embracing his role as a veteran leader for the Nets, according to the NY Daily News. He said, "This is a new kind of situation for me, being just five years into the league and being one of the most experienced guys out there, guys looking for me to help out. I had guys to look up to in Dallas, and now I'm kind of that guy."

Our View:Harris is only 25 years old, but is still one of just eight Nets with at least that many years in the league. When he played for Dallas, they had several veterans around to show him the way. Harris looks to be a solid late-round fantasy pick, as he averaged 14.8 points and 5.8 assists over 64 games in 2007.

Devin Harris isn't immune to the recent rumors which suggest he could be part of a package that could land Carmelo Anthony in New Jersey. "I heard some rumors. I'm curious. You've got to figure we're going to do something, whether it's a big monster deal or changing some of our role players," Harris tells the New York Post. "I think it's more retooling, but it is the NBA, things happen every summer."

Our View:We'd agree that the Nets seem more like a team in need of smaller moves, not huge trades. Plus, Harris looks like he could be a pretty good point guard and a future building block.
