The Heat were among the teams who checked out point guard Shaun Livingston's workout in Chicago last week, the Miami Herald reports.

Our View:This once-promising point guard is still recovering from a very serious knee injury suffered in February of 2007. Livingston hopes to find a backup role in 2008-09 and use that as a springboard to get his career back on track.

Warriors vice president Chris Mullin will travel to Chicago on Thursday to check out point guard Shaun Livingston, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The visit was scheduled prior to the club knowing about Monta Ellis's ankle surgery.

Our View:The Warriors aren't the only club keeping an eye on Livingston's progress. The point guard suffered a very serious knee injury in late February of 2007 and missed all of last season. He is still just 22 and is working hard to get ready for the 2008-09 campaign.

By signing Jason Williams, the Clippers basically eliminated themselves from re-signing point guard Shaun Livingston, who still has not been cleared for basketball as he recovers from a knee injury suffered in February 2007, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Our View:It appears the continued frustrations for Livingston are not likely to end any day soon. He left high school ball with such high hopes of becoming a valuable NBA point guard, but now he sits as a man without an employer and a knee ravaged by injury. At this point, it is difficult to say if we will see him in the league any day soon.

Shaun Livingston's rights have been renounced by the Los Angeles Clippers, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:This was simply a formality to clear salary cap space, and Livingston is free to sign with any team, although he continues to recuperate from a devastating knee injury.
July 1, 2008
The tenure of Shaun Livingston with the Los Angeles Clippers is over, reports the Los Angeles Times. They will not offer him a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Our View:Livingston has been teasing fantasy owners with promise for years, but his injuries, including his devastating knee maladies that sidelined him for the season, are stopping him from fulfilling that potential. His future is very much up in the air at this point.
June 16, 2008
After nearly a year and a half of rehab in his recovery from a torn MCL, ACL, PCL and dislocated kneecap, Shaun Livingston has been medically cleared for basketball-related activities, according to the LA Times. The 22-year old Livingston has played two games of one-on-one this past week and his seriously injured left knee has improved to the point where is now dunking. The odds of him being cleared to play in the Las Vegas summer league remain small, however.

Our View:Livingston will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 if the Clippers don't offer him a salary starting at $5.8 million. The team wants to see how he progresses before committing to him financially, and may try to re-sign him at a reduced price. His return to the hardwood still remains in doubt.
June 12, 2008
The Clippers worked out a large group of potential draft picks on Wednesday, and point guard D.J. Augustin was the cream of the crop, the Los Angeles Times reports. The papers notes that the Clippers may also be interested in trading for Raptors point guard Jose Calderon.

Our View:It's become quite apparent that Shaun Livingston is no longer the Clippers point guard of the future, as his devastating knee injury still has his career in doubt.
June 9, 2008
Shaun Livingston is expected to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, according to the Boston Globe. The Clippers are not expected to make him a qualifying offer.

Our View:The Clippers are expected to select a guard with the seventh pick in the upcoming draft, and holding on to Lvingston is not in their plans. Livingston sustained major damage to his left knee after landing awkwardly following a missed layup against Charlotte in February of 2007, as he tore the ACL, the PCL, and the lateral meniscus. There is also speculation that he may not be able to play at the NBA level again.
March 3, 2008
Shaun Livingston still hopes to return this season. He tore the ACL, MCL, PCL, and lateral meniscus his left knee in late February of 2007. "I'm definitely optimistic about it," Livingston tells the Los Angeles Times. "I've got to be that. And we'll see where it takes me." He has been working on sliding and jumping.
February 15, 2008
Shaun Livingston is still hopeful to return to the court this season, according to the LA Times. Livingston's left knee that suffered torn ligaments on Feb. 26, 2007 -- still isn't quite ready to take the wear and tear of the hardcourt. "I'm doing a lot of strength and power," Livingston said. "Just the same -- running suicides and conditioning -- and endurance is the last step. That's where I'm at, trying to get my endurance back." Clippers Coach Mike Dunleavy said he wouldn't talk about a possible return date for Livingston until doctors cleared him for practice.
January 10, 2008
Clippers guard Shaun Livingston, who tore parts of his anterior cruciate ligament, posterior cruciate ligament, medial collateral ligament and lateral meniscus in a game against Charlotte last February, received good news from doctors on Wednesday. "The medical team feels he's going to make a full recovery," team president Andy Roeser told the AP. "There's a pretty good chance he’ll be on the court before the end of the season.” Livingston will spend the next month or so building strength in his knee and will be re-evaluated in February.

Our View:Even if Livingston returns this season, he wouldn’t be a productive fantasy player. The 22-year old just needs to get back on the court to get a feeling for his game back, but don’t expect the Clippers to give him any heavy minutes if he does return just out of precaution.
January 7, 2008
Shaun Livingston will have his surgically repaired knee examined on Monday. He hopes to receive clearance to begin work on regaining his jumping ability, according to the LA Times. While there remains a chance he could return to game action this season, since the Clippers aren't playing for the postseason, there's no reason for them to push him to come back too quickly from what was a gruesome knee injury sustained last year.
