Player Notes
November 23, 2008
Andris Biedrins finished Sunday's game with 10 points, eight boards, four assists, two blocks and two steals.

Our View:Beidrins, who entered the game scoring 17 points with 14 boards an outing, has been held to less than a double-double just twice this season in 13 games, though two of those efforts have come in the last three games.
November 15, 2008
Andris Biedrins has been a huge plus for fantasy owners this season. 10 games into the season, and Biedrins has recorded a double-double of points and rebounds in each contest.

Our View:The Warriors could be poised to make a late season run once they get Monta Ellis back if they are still getting this kind of performance out of Biedrins in a couple of months. The Warriors are only 4-6 in the early going, but still haven't struggled as much as another annual playoff contender in the Mavericks, who have sputtered to a 2-7 start.
November 14, 2008
Andris Biedrins scored 17 points on Thursday to go with 19 rebounds, which keeps him averaging a double-double for the year. He also contributed two assists, a steal, and a block.

Our View:Biedrins fantasy value is an inverse of the current stock markets right now, and should be in your lineup every night until he slows down.
November 9, 2008
Andris Biedrins scored 16 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, handed out four assists, stole two balls and blocked two shots for the Warriors.

Our View:Biedrins has gone for at least 12 points and 11 rebounds in each of his seven games on the young season. He may be terrible at the free throw line at 53.0% for his career, but he never shoots from more than 10 feet which has led to a superb 61.2% mark from the field in his career.
November 6, 2008
Andris Biedrins continued an impressive start to season with 12 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks as the Warriors defeated the Nuggets 111-101.

Our View:The 22-year-old is averaging 16.4 points, 13.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game, while shooting 70 percent through five games this season. However, he wil never be a good free throw shooter. He has hit just 12-of-24 attempts this season.
November 3, 2008
Andris Biedrins had 16 points and 22 rebounds as the Warriors fell on the road to the Grizzlies 79-90. Golden State shot just 34.4 percent, but their big man shot 8-for-14.

Our View:He is averaging 17.5 points and 14.5 rebounds through the Warriors first four games and is proving he is worth the big contract he was awarded in the summer.
November 1, 2008
Andris Biedrins collected a double-double in Saturday's 105-97 win over the Nets, with 23 points and 11 boards. He also notched two steals and two blocks.

Our View:The Warriors' center has registered a double-double in each of the first two games of the season, and is averaging 18.5 points and 11.5 boards.
October 31, 2008
Andris Biedrins scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while shooting 8-for-13 from the field as the Warriors lost to the Raptors 112-108.

Our View:Look for similar performances all season long from the Warriors' center. He shoots terribly from the free throw line but makes up for it in by dominating field goal percentage and rebounds.
October 30, 2008
Andris Biedrins scored 14 points and 12 rebounds despite fouling out in 29 minutes against the Hornets on Wednesday.

Our View:Biedrins should be a lock for double-double averages this season but he needs to get more blocks than his 1.2 average from a season ago. He had no blocks on Wednesday.
October 7, 2008
Andris Biedrins was solid in his preseason debut for the Warriors on Sunday night. He was a perfect 4-for-4 from the field and collected eight rebounds and nine points in just 19 minutes.

Our View:This is exactly what the big fella will do for you this season. He should be a lock for a double-double and shoot over 60 percent again this season. If he could increase his 1.2 blocks per game rate, he would have very good calue as a No. 2 center.

Golden State head coach Don Nelson won $6,276,638.46 in a breach-of-contract ruling against Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:This surely did not please Cuban, who not only claimed Nelson was the one who breached his contract, but used information he obtained as an employee of the Mavericks to help the Warriors upset Dallas in the first round of the playoffs in 2007.
July 28, 2008
As expected, Andris Biedrins agreed to a six-year deal with the Warriors worth $63 million, according to the SF Chronicle.

Our View:Biedrins will remain in the NBA after several European clubs targeted him. Biedrins is among the best shooters among big men in the NBA, and notably led the league last season by hitting 63% of his shots.
July 27, 2008
NBA front-office sources told ESPN.com that Andris Biedrins will sign a new six-year contract with the Warriors worth nearly $63 million on Monday. If all goes as planned, the Warriors will have shelled out over $200 million this summer for Biedrins, Monta Ellis, Corey Maggette, Ronny Turiaf and Kelenna Azubuike.

Our View:Finally, a little bit of good news for the NBA. Biedrins had been attracting big money from European teams but it appears that the 22-year old center is not going anywhere. He should be good for 12 points and 10 boards a game next season. His 63% shooting percentage was also among the best in the league. He would greatly help his fantasy value if he could block a few more shots. Last season he averaged 1.2 a game.

The Philadelphia 76ers may pursue Andris Biedrins in free agency, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Our View:Philadelphia has about $11 million in cap space, so they can afford the big man, should they choose to go after him. Biedrins is a quality fantasy option, putting up about 10 points, 10 boards and one block while shooting 63% from the floor.
April 18, 2008
Warriors executive vice president of basketball operations Chris Mullin tells the San Francisco Chronicle that he'll re-sign Andris Biedrins this summer, no matter what the cost. The big man is due to be a free agent. He averaged 10.5 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks and shot 62.6 percent in 2007-08.

Our View:Biedrins turned 22 earlier this month, and he is still developing into a complete player. Fantasy owners can see the obvious pluses in his game, though. If Biedrins can get a little more aggressive on both ends and bump up his minutes from 27 to around 32 per night, he could turn into a quality fantasy center as soon as next season.
April 17, 2008
The season has ended on a negative note that will be painful to bear this offseason for the Golden State Warriors, but center Andris Biedrins did what he could to add one more win to the record. Biedrins shot 8-of-13 from the field and 4-of-7 from the free-throw line to score 20 points with 17 rebounds (including 10 offensive) on the evening.

Our View:It was another great effort from the center, but the Warriors still fell in defeat to the Seattle SuperSonics, 126-121, putting one last sour note on a season that came just short of a playoff berth.

Andris Biedrins has joined the Warriors for their current road trip, but it's not clear if he'll be able to play at some point during the next four games, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Biedrins has missed the last four games after undergoing an appendectomy. Play it safe and sit him for now. We'll update you on his status when more is known.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported Monday afternoon that it was unknown whether Andris Biedrins made the road trip with the team. The report noted, however, that it doesn't appear as if he'll play until the Warriors return home next week. Without the possible participation of the injured Chris Webber (knee) the team will continue to ask more of Brandan Wright and Austin Croshere.
February 29, 2008
Andris Biedrins rejoined the Warriors and took part in practice on Thursday, according to the Contra Costa Times. "We'll see," said Biedrins. "It's day-by-day, how I feel. I'll start to do more and more every day and we'll go from there." It's only been a week since he underwent an appendectomy, so he probably remains week-to-week at this point. The Warriors may have a timetable set up after he's examined by his surgeon on Friday, though.
February 25, 2008
Andris Biedrins reported to the team's training facility on Sunday, but not in a working capacity, notes the San Francisco Chronicle. The Warriors center was at the office to pose for the official team photo. Biedrins is out indefinitely after undergoing emergency appendectomy surgery last week and has no current timetable for a return.
February 21, 2008
Andris Biedrins needed an emergency appendectomy on Thursday and will likely miss at least a week's worth of action as a result according to the San Francisco Chronicle. This is a big blow to Biedrins owners as there simply is no clear cut fill-in to pick up off waivers. The Warriors figure to alternate playing time amongst Chris Webber and Austin Croshere with Patrick O'Bryant and Brandan Wright possibly seeing some time as well.
