The AP reports that Josh Howard underwent successful arthroscopic surgery to his left wrist and left ankle on Thursday. He is expected to begin his rehab this week.

Our View:It's not certain what pain killers Howard was prescribed, but we have a pretty good guess about what he would prefer. Howard should be ready by the start of next season, but he could miss out some of the pre-season.

Josh Howard will get a second opinion on his injured left ankle next week in New York, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:He is still expected to need arthroscopic surgery. He should be able to make a full recovery for next season.

Josh Howard had 14 points and seven rebounds in the Mavericks' 106-105 heartbreaking loss at home to the Nuggets on Saturday.

Our View:Howard managed to hobble around for almost 29 minutes on two bum ankles, and it's impressive he fared as well as he did. He was just 5-of-15 shooting, but the guy deserves some slack. Pulling down seven boards on two busted wheels is commendable. Howard will likely get a rest soon though as the Mavs are almost assured to get knocked off in the series.
