Kendrick Perkins scored 10 points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked four shots as the Celtics won in Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Our View:The 24-year-old had a nice night but he is still a No. 3 center at best.
October 19, 2008
Kendrick Perkins looks to have recovered fully from his offseason shoulder surgery. On Sunday against New Jersey he scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds in 22 minutes.

October 9, 2008
Kendrick Perkins will likely miss the next two preseason games as he is recovering from shoulder surgery, according to the Boston Globe. He hopes to be ready by next Thursday's game.

Our View:Expect Patrick O'Bryant to continue to start in his place. POB played well in his first preseason game, and his continued experience with the first unit bodes well for his success with his new team.
September 27, 2008
The Boston Globe reports that Kendrick Perkins will miss the start of training camp and possibly all of the preseason while recovering from a July shoulder surgery.

Our View:He will definitely be ready for the regular season. The young big man should improve upon his averages of 6.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks this season. He is only worth considering in deep leagues.

Boston Celtics starting center Kendrick Perkins has undergone surgery on his left shoulder, according to CBSSports.com.

Our View:The Celtics said Perkins had arthroscopic surgery Wednesday at New England Baptist Hospital. Also undergoing surgery was the Celtics' second-round draft pick, Bill Walker, to repair damage to his right knee. No timetable has been set for Perkins' and Walker's offseason returns to the Celtics.
June 28, 2008
Reports out of Boston claim Celtics center Kendrick Perkins declined an offer to scrimmage with the Olympic team this summer, supporting rumors that the rising young contributor for the defending champs will be undergoing surgery this offseason, according to the Boston Herald.

Our View:Reports from team doctors indicate the procedure would be merely for preventative measures rather than reconstructive or structural repair, but the folks in Boston have been watching this with a tinge of concern. Perkins was a strong contributor and, with PJ Brown set to retire and leave the depth chart nearly void of a backup option, the Celts may be pondering an offer to find a free agent (can you say Alonzo Morning?). We will update as news becomes available.
June 17, 2008

Perkins missed Game 5 with a strained left shoulder, and the Celtics' loss let the Lakers climb back into the series at 3-2. Perkins said, "If it feels good, I'm going to give it a shot tonight. I plan on playing tonight and I'll see how it goes."

Our View:Perkins also admitted that his shoulder won't be back to 100% until after the season, but feels well enough to play tonight.
June 16, 2008
Updating an earlier report, Kendrick Perkins is now being listed as a game-time decision for Game 6 due to his injured shoulder, according to the Boston Herald. "Perk is a physical guy," Kevin Garnett said. "He plays the post better than anybody in this league. That’s what he does. When you lose a key guy, you’re losing something."

Our View:The good news is that the team is expecting Ray Allen back, but it doesn't sound good as far as the case of Perkins goes.
June 16, 2008
Kendrick Perkins was held out of Sunday's Game 5 loss to the Lakers due to a strained left shoulder, and is already said to be doubtful for Game 6 in Boston, according to the Boston Herald. Coach Doc Rivers said he would probably be doubtful for Game 6, and Perkins added, "I couldn’t tell you. I can raise my arm, but there’s just a lot of pain right now. I don’t know if I can take a hard hit on it. When we get back to Boston I’m supposed to get an MRI on it, and then we’ll know more about it."

Our View:The team could be without Perkins for Game 6, as well as Ray Allen, who is dealing with an undisclosed family issue involving one of his children. Rajon Rondo is hobbling as well, and while the Celtics hold a 3-2 lead in the series and host the final two games in Boston, a championship could be in doubt.
June 15, 2008
Kendrick Perkins has been ruled out for Sunday's Game 5 against the Lakers due to his shoulder strain, according to the Boston Globe. Perkins said, "If somebody bumped me right now, there's a lot of pain in there. So I knew I couldn't go tonight. I felt that yesterday. But hopefully we can close it out. I will play on Tuesday if it goes that far. Hopefully we close it out tonight. That's the biggest thing. I'm focused right now for the guys."

Our View:Leon Powe is going to fill Perkins' spot in the starting lineup. The team is still in good shape as Powe scored 21 points against the Lakers in Game 2.
June 15, 2008
Kendrick Perkins told the AP prior to Saturday's practice that he'll be able to play tonight in Game 5 against the Lakers. But the report noted that judging from the way he shot at one end of the floor, using strictly his right arm while being careful not to move his left shoulder, the Celtics may be better off resting their starting center.

Our View:Asked if he would have played if the game were to have been played today [Saturday], Perkins said, "Probably not. Right now I'm probably about 50-50."
June 13, 2008
Kendrick Perkins is questionable for the NBA Finals Sunday night game, this according to the AP. The Fathers Day affair is Game 5 of the seven-game series. Perkins strained his left shoulder in Boston's 97-91 victory Thursday night.

For the next three days I will rest and take care of my body."

Our View:He only contributed two points and one board prior to his early exit, but the Celtics still rallied back to claim a 97-91 victory over the Lakers. Perkins should be fine, as he fought through a high ankle sprain earlier in the series.
June 8, 2008
Kendrick Perkins sat out Sunday's morning shootaround and will be a game-time decision for Game 2 due to a high ankle sprain, according to the AP.

Our View:Expect him to take the court on Sunday.
June 6, 2008
Kendrick Perkins, who suffered a sprained ankle in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, addressed the media today, reports the Boston Globe. His left ankle was heavily taped but said he would have been able to practice today if the team had held one.

Our View:Expect Perkins to be dressed and in the starting lineup Sunday in the Garden.
May 30, 2008
Kendrick Perkins came out of nowhere to set new playoff career highs in Wednesday's win with 18 points and 16 rebounds.

May 29, 2008
Kendrick Perkins recorded a double-double with 18 points and 16 boards in Wednesday's 106-102 win over Detroit in Game 5. He also chipped in two steals and two blocks. Boston leads the series 3-2.

Our View:That was his second double-double of the series, both games of which the Celtics won.
May 26, 2008
Kendrick Perkins has done little to endear himself to the Boston faithful during the the first two rounds of the playoffs. The robust starting center notched only his second double-double of the postseason (seventeen games) in Game 3, with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Our View:Getting support from starting center, as well from the inconsistent bench of the Celtics, would go a long way in providing a second straight upset in Detroit tonight. In fact it's a must if Boston expects to leave the Palace with a win.
May 25, 2008
Kendrick Perkins registered a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday's 94-80 win over Detroit in Game 3. He also had one steal and one block. Boston leads the series 2-1.

Kendrick Perkins had 10 rebounds to help Boston to an 88-79 victory in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals. The Celtics rode that advantage to seven-game series victories over Atlanta and Cleveland and held serve in the opener against Detroit.

Our View:Rajon Rondo added 11 points and seven assists for Boston, which earned home court through the playoffs with a league-best 66-16 regular season record.
February 14, 2008
Kendrick Perkins missed his third straight game with a left shoulder strain on Wednesday, according to the Boston Globe. "Each day, I'm feeling a little better," he said. "I'm trying to work on my conditioning and taking it one day at a time." Asked if he thought he'd be ready to play after the All-Star break, Perkins said, "I hope so. But I'm not going to rush it. I want to make sure it's right so I don't worry about it when I'm on the court."
February 13, 2008
