Kendrick Perkins won't need surgery on his nagging left shoulder injury, according to the Boston Herald.

Our View:He believes he can heal naturally from rest and taking time off. He suffered a mildly strained shoulder during the second-round of the playoffs against Orlando.

Kendrick Perkins played 35 minutes in Tuesday's Game 5 win over Orlando while battling his ailing left shoulder, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:He wrapped the shoulder in ice after the game and noted that the injury did not get worse. He chipped in six points and 11 boards, while helping Boston take a 3-2 lead in the series.

Kendrick Perkins practiced at near full speed on Tuesday morning and is expected to start in Game 6 against the Magic, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Perkins strained his left shoulder in the final quarter of Game 5, be he looks ready to go tonight. The Celtics need him to not only play, but to be effective. Expect him to be fine tonight.
