Dwyane Wade is not interested in playing the point guard position, and hopes the Heat can acquire somebody to fill that role, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. "Do I want to set up the offense every time? No, I don't want to do that," he said.

Our View:If someone else can help set Wade up for shots, it might help him to remain healthy, which would be a boon for the Heat and fantasy owners.

Dwyane Wade practiced with the US Olympic team on Saturday and noted that his surgically repaired left knee feels good and he no longer has any physical limitations, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View:This is good news for Team USA, as well as the Heat. Hopefully his surgically repaired knee can remain intact through the duration of the Olympics.
June 19, 2008
Dwyane Wade has reportedly been awarded a spot on the US Olympic basketball team, according to ESPN.com. His spot on the team will be made official on Monday.

Our View:Wade has been rehabbing since May 5 in Chicago and hosted USA Basketball managing director Jerry Colangelo there for a workout last week. Colangelo came away impressed and convinced that Wade's surgically repaired left knee could hold up to the stress of the Olympic schedule. The Olympic team will begin training in mid-July.

Dwyane Wade, recovering from left knee surgery, said Sunday that he's been playing 5-on-5 games for about a week with "no problems," according to the AP. Wade still believes his knee will be ready for the Beijing Olympics. "Just trying to get my timing back because I haven't played since March," Wade said. "But 5-on-5 went well and I'm looking forward to next week, going back to my second week of 5-on-5 and the competition picking up more. I'm doing my job of trying to bring more competition down to Chicago."

Our View:There have been rumors floating around that the Heat may consider dealing Wade, but the team has denied those reports. It sounds like his recovery is going just fine so far.
June 5, 2008
Dwyane Wade spends the off-season in his Chicago-area hometown (attended Richards high school), but don't count on him becoming a member of the Bulls, according to the Miami Herald. The Heat are said to have no interest in trading Wade, even for the number one pick in the NBA Draft.

Our View:Wade had trouble staying healthy during a nightmarish campaign for the Heat, but he is a five-time All-Star and was the NBA Finals MVP in 2006. He should bounce back next season, along with the Heat franchise.
June 3, 2008
Miami forward Dwyane Wade told reporters that he is aware that his name is heavily mentioned in trade rumors involving his Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Our View:The typical scenario has the Bulls laying the 1st-overall pick in the draft for Wade the the 2nd-overall pick. It doesn't make much sense on paper, but reports out of Miami have team sources claiming the discussion has taken place and the deal could go down. Wade states he has no worries and will be happy regardless of his employer.

Could the Heat pass on Michael Beasley in favor of O.J. Mayo? Chad Ford of ESPN.com reports the Heat think Mayo would be a good fit alongside Dwyane Wade in the backcourt, and the USC star could be the No. 2 pick if Derrick Rose goes to the Bulls.

Our View:Call us cynical, but the Heat people may be using Ford to help advance their trade talks with the No. 2 pick. We're not fully certain why they seem to be soured on Beasley. We still have more than a month until the draft. This speculation is fun but possibly premature.

Dwyane Wade is on to the next phase of his left knee rehab program. He began working in Chicago on Monday and is hoping to receive clearance to play for Team USA in June, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. "We want to have him where he needs to be when it comes time to resume playing with USA Basketball," trainer Tim Grover says.

Our View:The report didn't provide details on Wade's latest rehab steps. He has played only 51 games in each of the last two seasons, and Wade's fantasy stock is in limbo until we know how healthy he'll be before the 2008-09 season.
April 18, 2008
Dwyane Wade is aiming to play for Team USA in this summer's Olympics. He has yet to do any rehab on his left knee, which didn't allow him to take the court after March 8. Wade plans to begin working out on May 5, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports. The pre-Olympics mini-camp begins on June 27.

Our View:Wade would help his 2008-09 fantasy value if he's able to suit up this summer. We're still going to have concerns about his future chances to ever log more than 70-75 games in a season, though.
March 12, 2008
Dwyane Wade had an OssaTron procedure performed Tuesday and will be limited to non-contact exercise for the next 30 days, according to the AP. The 20-minute treatment came only one day after the Heat announced Wade would miss the rest of the season.
March 10, 2008
Dwyane Wade will undergo knee procedure, therefore ending his season, according to ESPN.com. This makes sense since the Heat have nothing left to play for.

Heat coach Pat Riley was asked Saturday why he doesn't just shut Dwyane Wade and his ailing knee down for the rest of the season, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. "We're moving in that direction," Riley said. "This is the first flare-up that he had. It isn't something so debilitating and dangerous. It's soreness, borne out of almost the healing process." We've been warning most of the season that Wade likely would stop playing games as the regular season winds down, and now that moment appears to be on the horizon. He missed Friday's game due to his surgically repaired knee but played Saturday's regularly scheduled game and the do-over contest. He's day-to-day for now.
March 8, 2008
Dwyane Wade posted 24 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds, and block in Miami's loss to the Atlanta Hawks this evening. The supporting cast for Wade nearly pulled off a much-needed victory, but both Wade and Ricky Davis shots from beyond the three-point arc in the waining seconds to force overtime. The point production has to be a bit relieving for fans of Wade with memories of potential knee problems looming, but a win would be nice.
March 7, 2008
Dwyane Wade missed Friday night's start due to soreness in his surgically repaired knee but could be back in action on Saturday, according to the Star Tribune. The injury woes continue for the Heat.
March 1, 2008
Dwyane Wade said he's not inclined to take coach Pat Riley up on his offer to shut the superstar down for the season due to his still-recovering, surgically repaired knee, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. "Right now," Wade said, "my job is to come out here every day and lead my team." Wade added that Riley hasn't actually spoken to him directly about being shut down at some point. Still, Wade has never looked close to fully recovered from the surgery this season, despite his quality overall fantasy performance. He's the franchise, and the Heat are pathetic, so it would be a greater surprise if he's still balling come April.
February 29, 2008
Coach Pat Riley is thinking about shutting Dwyane Wade down for the rest of the season. "Somewhere along the way, if this thing gets further away from us, then I think it would be prudent to say, 'We've got to take care of our best asset,'" Riley told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Has Wade, who came back in November from shoulder knee surgeries, not been fully healthy all year? It would seem that's the case. Regardless, this is obviously not good news for his owners. Look to move him now while you can, and while you're at it, go ahead and pick up Ricky Davis and Dorell Wright, both of whom would see their value jump if Wade is shut down.
February 29, 2008
Dwyane Wade backed up a 15 point outing in his last game with only 18 points in a blowout loss to the Lakers on Thursday night. Wade made just 6 of 17 shots on the night while he committed four turnovers pulled one rebound, and dished out a measly three assists. How much worse can it get in Miami? On the rare nights that Wade doesn't have his "A" game, there just isn't anyone else on the Heat that is capable of taking over the game. Look for Wade to have a nice bounceback game the next time the Heat take the court.
February 21, 2008
Dwyane Wade played great, he scored 33 points and dished out 11 assists, but he couldn't stop the Heat from losing for the 25th time in 26 games 112-100 to the Rockets. Wade has now scored at least 29 points in three straight games, but it matters little as the Heat flat out stink. The good news is that there is no one to take shots from Wade, so look for the superb numbers to continue as long as he can stay healthy.
February 14, 2008
Dwyane Wade scored 30 points on Thursday night in a loss to the Bulls. It was Miami's 24th in the last 25 games. Wade exceeded 20 points for the second straight game after scoring 19 points in the two previous contests. The Heat shooting guard also had seven rebounds and seven assists in the loss.
February 13, 2008
With Shaq out of town, Udonis Haslem and Alonzo Mourning injured and Mark Blount and Earl Barron more face-up oriented players, Dwyane Wade will be used in the post more often. "We haven't run a post-up play in the last month, but we're going to have to find that," coach Pat Riley said in the Miami Herald. "Dwyane is going to take on that presence a little more down there. That's the next step in his development. Finding a post-up presence is always important, and it's on our short list of things to do."
February 10, 2008
Dwyane Wade scored 19 points, registered nine assists and five rebounds in Sunday's 104-94 loss to the Lakers. Wade is struggled to find a groove in the team's new rotation. Wade had nine turnovers Sunday, and now has 19 in his last three games. Wade did record four steals and remains a must start even playing for the dismal Heat and with his recent ill advised decisions.
February 7, 2008
The Shaq-less Miami Heat were rumored that they might be better without injured Shaquille O'Neal in their lineup. If Thursday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers is any indication of their talent and new chemistry, things don't appear to be much different than they were before trading the 14-time All-Star center. Andre Iguodala scored 25 points and Andre Miller added 21, leading the Philadelphia 76ers to a 101-84 victory over the short-handed Heat on Thursday night. Miami has lost six straight games and 21 of its last 22 with Wade struggling to 19 point performance on 5-for-17 shooting; well below his 24.3 per-game average.
February 4, 2008
Dwyane Wade was limited to just 12 points on Monday night as the hapless Heat fell for the 19th time in 20 games, including losing 10 of their last 11 games at home. The best Miami players in the 114-82 loss to the Raptors were Dorell Wright who scored 17 points and pulled eight rebounds and Alexander Johnson who had a double-double with 10 and 10.
February 1, 2008
Dwyane Wade is slated to return to action on Friday, according to the Miami Herald. He missed Wednesday's game due to the flu and had been listed as questionable for tonight's contest, but he took part in the morning shootaround and said he'd be ready to roll this evening.
February 1, 2008
Dwyane Wade is considered to be questionable for Friday's game due to the flu, according to the Miami Herald. He's still battling the illness that kept him from taking part in Wednesday's run. He may end up a game-time call, depending on how much his condition improved overnight.
January 30, 2008
Heat guard Dwyane Wade will not play on Wednesday due to flu-like symptoms, the AP reported.

Our View:Wade didn’t even make the trip to Orlando, so make sure he’s on your bench if you’re in daily leagues.
January 9, 2008
Dwyane Wade returned to the starting lineup in Tuesday's loss at Minnesota, finishing with 25 points and seven assists in 39 minutes. He's playing through an assortment of injuries right now, and you have to wonder if the club, which fell to 8-27, might shut him down at some point in the second half, thinking about the future.
January 8, 2008
Heat coach Pat Riley is concerned about guard Dwyane Wade, who is dealing with “compensation” injuries related to last season’s shoulder dislocation – which Riley told the AP was more serious than most people realize. Wade is playing with soreness in his shoulder and knee, as well as a bruised right shoulder, an injured shin and a jammed finger. Wade isn’t waiting for the soreness to go away. “I’ve just reached a point where I understand this is just how my body is going to feel,” Wade said. “It’s just how it’s going to be, so you just got to toughen up mentally and go forward.”

Our View:Fantasy owners who were hoping Wade would be fully recovered once he came back earlier this season have been severely disappointed, and it doesn’t appear like he will return to his old self anytime soon, if at all, this season.
January 7, 2008
Dwyane Wade was able to return to action Sunday after missing Friday's game due to injuries. He came off the bench, at his own request, according to the Miami Herald. He racked up 18 points, nine dimes and four steals, despite his shoulder, knee and finger injuries. It's not clear if Wade will start Tuesday, but it appears he should play.
January 6, 2008
After missing Friday's game due to various maladies, Dwyane Wade was able to practice on Saturday. However, he'll be a game-time call on Sunday, according to the Miami Herald. All Wade is dealing with is sore shoulders, a jammed finger on his right hand and a sore surgically repaired knee. That's a lot even for a tough guy like Wade to handle, so we'll have to wait to see what he does on Sunday.
January 5, 2008
Dwyane Wade skipped Friday's game due to his sore shoulder and a jammed finger. It's not clear when he will return, but clearly Wade is far from 100 percent healthy.
