The AP reports that Manu Ginobili who had surgery on his left ankle in early September, could miss at least two months of the season. Though off crutches and out of a protective boot, he’s still got plenty of rehab.

Our View:Ginobili is one of the most efficient across the board providers in all of fantasy but don't expect him back before January. Assuming a full recovery, he should be able to provide his owners good value in the second half of the season.

He battled a nagging ankle injury as well as fatigue and he added, "My physical condition was an important reason. I feel I am responsible for the elimination because of how I felt and because I was unable to give it my all."

Our View:Ginobili gave it his best effort, and he shouldn't fault himself for being hurt.
May 31, 2008
Manu Ginobili expects to be fine for the Beijing Olympics, according to the AP. If his injured ankle is healed, he will play for defending champion Argentina. He said, "It’s something that I am looking forward to. Yesterday I got an injection to get the swelling off of the joint, and they told me that in a week, 10 days I’ll be totally fine. So I trust them and I think I’m going to be perfectly healed."

Our View:Practices don’t begin until early July, so Ginobili will have more than a month for his ankle to recover. The Olympics are August 8-24.

Our View:Manu's other numbers lacked, but the scoring set the pace in a dominating performance on the home court for the Spurs to bring the series to 2-1 in favor of the Lakers.
May 24, 2008
Manu Ginobili was held to just over 23 minutes on the court and 2-for-8 shooting due to a sprained ankle, one that was so bad that he almost didn't play in Game 2, according to the Los Angeles Times. "You know, we wanted to take Manu out earlier," HC Greg Popovich said, "and then he made a mistake and made two good moves in a row [in the third quarter] and then I got all excited again.

Our View:The report states that if the Spurs had won Game 1, Manu likely wouldn't have played in Game 2. We can't see Manu throwing in the towel, but it's obvious that he just isn't physically right with that injured ankle.
May 22, 2008

May 13, 2008
The Spurs have taken a fall and now stare up at must-win games, falling 101-79 in Game 5 to the New Orleans Hornets to go down 3-2 in the Western Conference semifinals. The Spurs were led by guard Manu Ginobili , shooting just 5-of-15 from the floor, 3-of-7 from long range, and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line to score 20 points, adding seven assists to an otherwise faltered stat line.

Our View:Ginobili didn't get the job done and failed to convert on a rather large number of shots for him, and now the Spurs must find a way to prevail in Game 6 to stay alive.
May 13, 2008
Spurs' swingman Manu Ginobili has started both of the past two games (despite his Sixth Man of the Year award) and San Antonio has won both. He is reportedly still having issues with his ankle sprain.

Our View:Ginobili has struggled somewhat from beyond the three-point arc, missing five of seven. He has taken more threes (30) than twos (29) in the four games, but has been much more productive shooting from close range (18 of 29) than from deep (nine of 30).

May 8, 2008
Manu Ginobili is nursing a sore left ankle, but he said he will be fine to play tonight against the Hornets, according to the San Antonio Express News. Ginobili said, "I’m doing much better. Since the series has started, I start feeling a little better each game."

Our View:The Spurs are down 2-0 in the series, and Ginobili is going to treat tonight's game as if it is the last one for the Spurs. Injured or not, you can count on Ginobili tonight as the Spurs attempt to climb back into the series.

Our View:It probably helped that Manu padded his stats with 23 starts, but that's beside the point. He is coming off his best regular season as a pro and turned in a fine fantasy campaign.
April 16, 2008
Manu Ginobili should play for the Spurs in their final regular season game on Wednesday night after missing three games with a strained groin, this according to the San Antonio Express News.

March 21, 2008
Manu Ginobili, continuing to come off the bench as the sixth man, scored only nine points while taking just five shots on Friday night. Manu also tossed in five assists on the night, but for a guy who is averaging 20 points a game, how is it that he was held to just five shots on Friday and only 13 the past two games?
March 19, 2008
Manu Ginobili won't start another game this season. Head coach Gregg Popovich tells the San Antonio Express-News that the high-scoring guard will continue to operate as the sixth man. Manu Ginobili scored a game-high 28 points on Thursday night in the Spurs victory over the Pacers. Manu was an ultra-efficient 10-for-13 from the field and 8-for-9 from the line. Too bad he turned the ball over five times or it might have been just about a perfect outing.
March 2, 2008
Coach Gregg Popovich said that Manu Ginobili would stay in the starting lineup for the foreseeable future, but Michael Finely, not Ginobili, was in the lineup for the Spurs on Sunday. Ginobili played 29 minutes off the bench, the first time in the last 12 games he hasn't topped 30 minutes. He scored 17 points while adding four rebounds and three assists. Ginobili had been an animal since moving into the starting lineup 14 games ago, so this is not a positive development for his owners.
March 2, 2008

Ginobili had five rebounds and five assists, so his overall numbers were there, but it wasn't exactly one of his better outings. Strangely enough he seems to be struggling more now that Tony Parker is back in the lineup.
February 25, 2008
Manu Ginobili was held to just 13 points on Monday night, this coming on the heels of a 5-game stretch in which he averaged over 34 points an outing. February 10, 2008
Manu Ginobili scored 21 points including making 5-of-11 three point attempts in the Spurs loss on Sunday. Manu also tossed in four rebounds and four assists, but those six turnovers were certainly enough to put a damper on his line. Though he is scoring, rebounding and dishing out assists at a career best clip (19.1, 4.8 and 4.5), Ginobili is also turning the ball over 2.8 times per game, a career-worst mark, while shooting the ball at a 43.5% clip, his work percentage since his second season in 2003-04.
