Updating a previous report, the Indiana Pacers have officially signed free-agent point guard Earl Watson to a multi-year contract, according to TSN. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team.

Our View:Watson was released by the Thunder earlier this month, and it has been reported for a few weeks that the Pacers would sign him when he cleared waivers. The team is thin at the guard position with the loss of Jarret Jack and the potential loss of Marquis Daniels, so Watson should be a good fit in Indy.

Earl Watson is expected to sign a one year contract with the Pacers once he clears waivers, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Our View:Watson was waived by the Thunder on Friday. He will be primarily a defensive specialist for the Pacers, but did average 5.8 assists per game in 2008-09, and could have value in Eastern Conference only leagues.

The Oklahoman is reporting that the Thunder have waived point guard Earl Watson. Watson averaged 6.6 points and 5.8 assists last season as the backup to Russell Westbrook.

Our View:The team looks to be set at point guard with Westbrook, and with Watson being 30-years-old he didn't figure into the youth movement in OKC. Look for Watson to sign with someone else, but it seems unlikely he will have any fantasy value next season.
