November 16, 2008
Gerald Wallace put in 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds - both team highs for Charlotte - but it wasn't enough, as the Bobcats fell to Orlando, 90-85.

Our View:Wallace has had a solid season, and he went past his averages of 15.9 points and 8.5 rebounds. He did only get one steal, which was under his 2.4 steals per game average.

Gerald Wallace is expected to be dealt by the Bobcats, according to Pro Basketball News.

Our View:He signed a six-year extension for $57 million back in 2007, and the team feels it would be in their best interest to allocate that money to someone else. It remains undetermined where he may land, but Golden State is believed to be an option, as they are also looking to unload Al Harrington.

Gerald Wallace scored a game-high 34 points in Saturday's 100-87 win over Miami. He also contributed nine boards, three assists, two steals, and three blocks.

Our View:He only scored 13 points in the season opener, so fantasy owners should be very pleased with tonight's effort. He should remain a solid option as a starting forward.
October 21, 2008
Gerald Wallace came off of the bench to score 16 points, grab eight rebounds, hand out three assists and collect two steals in the Bobcats loss to the Lakers on Tuesday.

Our View:Wallace seems to have recovered from his back injury. Jared Dudley and Sean May started in the forward spots and combined for just one point and four rebounds.

Gerald Wallace's back injury is not believed to be serious, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Our View:He played 36 minutes Saturday night and was not bothered by the ailment, as he scored 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and one blocked shot against Atlanta.
October 8, 2008
Gerald Wallace was Charlotte's best player on the floor Wednesday as the Bobcats lost 118-80 to Orlando. He finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in 26 minutes.

Our View:Wallace has been challenged by Larry Brown to rebound more this season and its apparent that Wallace is answering the call. He had just six rebounds per game last season but expect that to go up along with his blocks. However, he is not a good bet to get 70-plus games in this year.

ESPN.com reports that Gerald Wallace is drawing praise from new coach Larry Brown. "My whole career, guys like him have been the backbone of every team I've coached," said Brown. "I'm really impressed with him. He's got the athletic ability, the quickness and grit to be a phenomenal defender. He should be as good a rebounding small forward as there is in the league. I think by accident he'll just score running on the break, going to the board. He's a much better passer than I ever imagined."

Our View:Wallace's per game fantasy production is worthy of a second round selection but it's his health that will cause him to fall. He'll be in a more controlled system this year and he may take less risks than in the past. Hopefully that translates into an 82 game season, but don't count on it.

Stories of trades not made continue to surface out of the NBA, and that leads to continued rumors of trades that continue to work towards reality. Charlotte forward Gerald Wallace is the newest name on the list, apparently shopped by managing partner Michael Jordan on draft day to Toronto, according to the Charlotte Observer.

Our View:Jordan has confirmed he had talks with the Raptors in a deal for guard TJ Ford (instead, sent to Indiana as part of the Jermaine O'Neal swap). Wallace has been a strong contributor when healthy but it seems his future with the Bobcats may be short lived. We keep an eye on the situation as the trade wheels in the NBA are just heating up.

Gerald Wallace's year may be over due to a strained groin. He will certainly miss Tuesday's game against the Wolves and may shut it down after a doctor's appointment earlier in the day, the Charlotte Observer notes. "That groin muscle is bothering him. He’s going to stretch on it, work on it, and see what happens in the next four or five days," head coach Sam Vincent says. Frankly, we don't see a good reason for Gerald to return.

Gerald Wallace played well in a tough 104-100 loss to Toronto on Monday, as he racked up 20 points, eight boards, three assists, and two steals. He should continue to roll as the regular season winds down.

Gerald Wallace doesn't want to play power forward anymore, according to The Charlotte Observer. He stated that just because he can play power forward, doesn't mean he should play power forward. He wants to move also to limit his hard collisions with bigger players, which have led to four concussions over his four years with the Bobcats. At his current position, Wallace is averaging 20.6 points per game and 6.2 rebounds with one block.
March 9, 2008
Gerald Wallace likely will return to action on Wednesday, according to the Charlotte Observer. It'll be interesting to see if coach Sam Vincent has Crash play power forward and risk getting another concussion in the paint. For that matter, it will just be interesting to see if Crash can play out the season without living up to his nickname and landing back in the infirmary.

Charlotte forward Gerald Wallace could return as early as next week after suffering his fourth concussion in four seasons, according to the Associated Press. The Bobcats expect Wallace to be cleared for practice by the end of the week and report he has been doing light running and shooting in recent days. Worries of continued headaches persist, but Wallace seems to be on the road to recovery and will be all too welcome in the Charlotte rotation. Fantasy owners have enjoyed tremendous rewards from Wallace in recent seasons, one of few bright spots for Charlotte. Getting him back on the floor will make fantasy owners happy.

The Grade III concussion is the most serious, so you can count Crash out indefinitely for now until a more specific timeline is set by the Bobs.

Wallace has been the leader of the Bobcats this season, and given their current record of 18-32, the team has little chance without him in the lineup. Look for Jason Richardson to try and fill the scoring void. Charlotte Observer

February 3, 2008
The strained foot that Gerald Wallace sustained during Friday's game is expected to sideline him for at least a week, according to the Charlotte Observer. "I think right now about a week; we want to be more cautious," in treating this situation, coach Sam Vincent said. "Gerald is a warrior. If he can play we know he will." He's a warrior, true. But he's also quite prone to injury and plays with reckless abandon, which isn't a great combination. Jared Dudley will replace Wallace in the starting lineup in the interim and could have some light fantasy value as a rebounder.
February 2, 2008
Gerald Wallace skipped the fourth quarter of Friday's game due to a sprained ankle, according to the Charlotte Observer. The Warriors smoked the Bobs, 127-96, and the game was all but over by the time Wallace got hurt, so sitting him may have just been precautionary. Crash is a fantasy monster, but his propensity for injury makes these news blurbs unsettling to his owners. Let's hope he's ready to roll tonight.

Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace is questionable for Wednesday’s game against Dallas with a strained left calf, the AP reported. He will be a game-time decision.

Our View:Wallace has missed at least 10 games in each of his first three seasons with Charlotte and has had calf trouble in the past, so if this doesn’t turn out to be a big deal, it may be sell high time for Gerald owners.
