A potential Zach Randolph to Memphis deal is in the hands of the Knicks, according to The Memphis Edge. The proposed deal is said to include Darko Milicic and Marko Jaric, as long as the Knicks are willing to pick up some of the cost of the huge salary Randolph is set to make the next three years ($47.9 million).

Our View:This deal is far from certain to be completed, but we have to give the Kicks credit as they sure are willing to take on European imports whose names the average fan can't spell.

Despite having kicked the tires with the Knicks on forward Zach Randolph, the Cavaliers are not said to be interested in acquiring him, according to the Northern Ohio News-Herald.

Our View:Randolph can certainly bring the numbers, which would help the Cavaliers cause, but they don't need Randolph's attitude infecting LeBron James and the team's locker room.

The Grizzlies are said to be talking to the Knicks about acquiring power forward Zach Randolph, according to the Memphis Edge.

Our View:Memphis is reportedly willing to part with Darko Milicic in a deal. Randolph would provide a solid presence under the post offensively for Memphis and the team also likes his perimeter shooting, but he offers little on defense and has character issues.

While the NBA League Office in New York and commissioner David Stern continue to assert his grasp on the situation, a former FBI agent has told reporters that Tim Donaghy, the recently-imprisoned NBA official incarcerated for attempts to fix NBA games for the Gambino crime organization, is telling the truth when he states other league officials were involved and are believed to have influenced games, according to the New York Daily News. Philip Scala, the recently retired FBI supervisory special agent in charge of the Gambino squad, which uncovered Donaghy's scheme of betting on basketball games he had officiated, said he believes the disgraced referee's claims that other refs were dirty. Donaghy, one of the most infamous turncoats he handled, came under withering criticism from the NBA for his allegations that other referees fixed the outcome of games. Scala claims it is the NBA who should be answering questions, backing Donaghy's allegations.

Our View:It would be hard to find a more credible source than the man tasked with infultrating the scheme and exposing it on behalf of the FBI. Now the light turns to Stern as the game continues to struggle through this scandal.

Reports from New York indicate the Knicks are on the verge of reaching a trade agreement with the LA Clippers that would send forward Zach Randolph west, according to Newsday.

Our View:The story was first reported Friday by SI.com, which said Knicks president Donnie Walsh turned down the Clippers' offer. It was not known which players would be going to the Knicks in the deal, but it would not have to be a salary match because the Clippers are well under the cap. Randolph has three years and $48 million left on his contract. The Knicks, with an eye on being in the same position by 2010, would not accept contracts that go beyond that year in return for Randolph, who averaged 17.6 points and 10.3 rebounds last season. It is believed that Walsh was hoping to pry Eric Gordon, the seventh overall pick in the NBA draft, as part of the deal. However, the talks continue and sources indicate these teams are trying to find an agreement that works for both. We'll keep you posted.

SI.com reports that the Knicks turned down an offer from the Clippers for Zach Randolph. It's not certain who the Clips were offering, but it's rumored that Knicks' GM Donnie Walsh was seeking seventh overall pick, Eric Gordon.

Our View:In the wake of Elton Brand's departure, the Clippers are suddenly desperate for a power forward and Randolph makes a lot of sense. Walsh has been active in trade talks and we may see something go down before he leaves the Las Vegas summer league.

A lawsuit against Zach Randolph has been dropped. The $300,000 lawsuit stemmed from an October 2006 incident in Portland. Robert Bacote accused Randolph of battery and harassment, as the forward and then-teammate Qyntel Woods believed Bacote told the police that Woods had abused his pit bulls, the AP summarizes.

Our View:If only Randolph were as intimidating and focused on the court as he allegedly was in pursuing Bacote.

Isiah Thomas has a new job with the Knicks, we're just not sure what it is. The former coach and general manager doesn't have a title, isn't working full time, may not have an office, and won't work with the players, the New York Post reports. Thomas may only be holding this "job" until he finds another gig.

Our View:Uh, what would you say you do here, Isiah? Seriously, the Bobs would simply let the former NBA star go at this point.
April 18, 2008
Isiah Thomas was fired as the Knicks coach on Friday, this according to the AP. “It’s very difficult to be the coach and general manager,” he said. “Maybe it was too much.”

Our View:Thomas will remain with the team in some capacity, though after a 23-59 season, the decision to move on to another coach seems warranted.

Three of the starters for the New York Knicks scored 20 points this evening, but the effort fell short at the Indiana Pacers snatched the win, 123-132. Center Zach Randolph scored 23 points going just 9-of-22 from the floor and 2-of-6 from three-point range. Both guards, Jamal Crawford and Fred Jones, scored 25 and 20 respectively.

Our View:This seems all too fitting an end to a season of horror for the Knicks, and now the hope for next season can begin.

Zach Randolph, who missed Friday's game with flu-like symptoms, is considered questionable for an afternoon contest against Atlanta, this according to the New York Post. As mentioned in previous reports, the Knicks player personnel are all risks from game-to-game. The team is mixing, matching and playing youth.

March 24, 2008
Zach Randolph, out the past two games due to coaches decisions, returned to action on Monday and scored 17 points while hauling in eight rebounds in 34 minutes of action. Though he is scoring less than 18 points a game for the first time since 2002-03, Randolph continues to pull boards when the team decides to put him on the floor as he currently is averaging 10.3 boards, his second highest total ever.

The Knicks, who are without a number of key contributors, will reportedly play some veterans who have been sitting as of late. Zach Randolph is reportedly scheduled to play after sitting out the last two games, this according to the New York Post. But New York will still be missing Eddy Curry (knee surgery), Nate Robinson (sprained knee), Quentin Richardson (wrist) and Stephon Marbury (ankle surgery). Fantasy owners who roster Randolph, might consider starting the veteran forward this week.
March 20, 2008
Isiah Thomas made it clear Thursday he's playing for the future by revealing the Knicks probably will not use Zach Randolph the next two games, this according to SI.com. With starters Stephon Marbury and Eddy Curry out for the season and Quentin Richardson questionable, the Knicks could be missing nearly their entire starting lineup when they host the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night.
March 17, 2008
Zach Randolph was solid in a losing effort against Pacers as he led the Knicks with 21 points and 10 rebounds, with two steals. That was his 35th double-double of the season.
March 10, 2008
Zach Randolph returned to the lineup on Monday night after missing 5-straight games due to a bruised foot and some personal issues to record a double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds. In each of the four months he has played this season, Randolph has averaged at least 15 points and 9.4 boards, so even though his team is horrible, he still "gets his" each night.
March 7, 2008
Zach Randolph was a late scratch Wednesday after being expected to return to action, according to the New York Daily News. He's probably going to sit out Friday and is iffy for Saturday's run, too. The Knicks say he has a deep bone bruise in his right foot, but it could well be a bruised ego and playing for a lousy team that has him disinclined to lace up.
March 5, 2008
Zach Randolph will return to action on Wednesday night. He participated in the team's morning shoot-around, Newsday reports. Randolph missed two games due to a sprained foot.
March 3, 2008
Zach Randolph, who missed his second straight game on Monday to a bruised foot, is listed as day-to-day according to team sources. Malik Rose started in his place as the Knicks host New Orleans.
March 2, 2008
The sore right foot that kept Zach Randolph from playing on Saturday could keep him out of action on Monday, too, according to the New York Daily News. "It's a little sore," Randolph said. "Hopefully it is nothing serious." He's actually been bothered by the ailment most of the season, but Saturday was the first game he's missed. He racked up 29 points and 17 boards on Friday, so hopefully he'll get back on track soon.
March 1, 2008
Zach Randolph was inactive for Saturday's game in Orlando with a sore right foot, notes Newsday. The New York forward reportedly suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Friday's loss in Atlanta. Jared Jeffries received the start.
February 22, 2008
Zach Randolph scored 26 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and dished out four assists on Friday night. Over his last nine games Randolph was averaging 9.1 boards a game, one less than his season average, so the 15 rebounds he put up tonight will get his numbers heading back in the right direction.
February 20, 2008
Zach Randolph got into an argument with teammate Nate Robinson Tuesday night and ended up tossing a cup of water at the diminutive guard, who responded by throwing a towel at Randolph, according to the New York Daily News. "It was the heat of the moment," Randolph said. Even when the Knicks win -- they beat the Wiz in OT -- they lose. Isiah Thomas may throw in the proverbial towel on Randolph's tenure with the Knicks by trading the foward by tomorrow's deadline.
February 15, 2008
The Knicks and Nuggets are discussing a possible deal that would send Zach Randolph to Denver, according to the NY Post. It is believed names discussed in a potential trade include Linas Kleiza, Eduardo Najera, Steven Hunter and J.R. Smith for Randolph and another Knicks player. The Knicks appear most interested in Kleiza, who is having a mini-breakout this year with the Nuggets. The Post indicates that it's still a longshot that Randolph will get dealt.
February 13, 2008
Zach Randolph had a good showing for the Knicks tonight with 20 points and 13 rebounds, though he did foul out of the game in just 26 minutes of action. Randolph flashed the offense tonight but also the undisciplined play that unfortunately has crept into his game quite often this season.
February 12, 2008
The NY Daily News reported Tuesday that the Knicks have seen the Zach Randolph - Eddy Curry experiment flop and with the trading deadline only nine days away, the team is shopping their two big men. It's not known exactly what Isiah Thomas is looking for in return - a Pau Gasol-type fire sale is not being conducted - but he's definitely trying to move both.
February 1, 2008
For the first time since being traded from the Trail Blazers to the Knicks, Zach Randolph will play a game in Portland on Friday. You can expect a hostile crowd and for Randolph to do his best to have a monster game. He's fully capable of doing just that, but there's a good chance he'll try a little too hard and post a poor FG%.
January 12, 2008
Zach Randolph saw limited action during Friday's game, because he couldn't keep up with Toronto's Chris Bosh, who torched the Knicks for 40 points. Randolph was seen jawing at coach Isiah Thomas on the sideline during the game, according to the New York Daily News. Randolph failed to score a point in the game, as he continues his up-and-down performance this season.
January 5, 2008
Zach Randolph was suspended by the NBA for Friday night's game for throwing a headband that hit a referee during the previous game. Randolph was ejected from the contest after scoring just five points, so he essentially cost his fantasy owners two games.
