Richard Jefferson told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that while he was surprised he was drafted from New Jersey on draft day, he's OK with the trade. "I didn't know," Jefferson said as he was introduced to the local media today at the Bradley Center. "There was no heads up. I found out, and next thing I know, my phone didn't stop ringing for about a week.

Our View:Jefferson believes he will be a good fit with Bucks guard Michael Redd and their skills would complement each other.

Richard Jefferson is not happy about being dealt from the Nets to the Bucks, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Nets' President Rod Thorn said, "He didn't seem very happy. I spoke to his agent, I called him, texted him. I like Richard. He was here for a long time and I'm sure he still expected to be here. Unless you are the one pushing for it, it's always difficult when you are traded. You are going to a new place, have new teammates. It's hard at first."

Our View:Jefferson moves to a smaller market in Milwaukee and joins a team that doesn't have a recent history of contending. Hopefully he will adjust to the move, and provide new coach Scott Skiles with much needed firepower at forward, which is what he was brought in for.

The Nets have reportedly agreed to trade Richard Jefferson to the Bucks in exchange for Yi Jianlian and Bobby Simmons, according to ESPN.com.

Our View:No draft picks are believed to be involved in the deal. Yi will be moving to a bigger media market in New Jersey, and Jefferson would be given a fresh start with Milwaukee following his misdemeanor assault charge stemming in January. Jefferson would also provide new coach Scott Skiles with much needed firepower at forward, as he averaged 22.6 points in 2007-08.

Richard Jefferson will be charged with one count of misdemeanor assault stemming from a January incident in Minneapolis, TMZ.com reports. The Nets star got into a "minor verbal disagreement" outside a hotel, and the spat ended with Jefferson on top of a man and choking him.

Our View:Yes, we go to TMZ for all our news. We imagine Jefferson could end up facing a suspension from the NBA if he's found guilty.

With the season all but over and the Nets on the outside of the playoff circus looking in, forward Richard Jefferson used the final game of the year to vent some frustration and score a few points. Jefferson shot 10-of-15 from the field to score 24 points, the leading scorer for New Jersey in a 94-105 loss to the Boston Celtics.

Our View:The Nets were a major disappointment this season and you can bet Jefferson is as frustrated as anyone about the end result.

Richard Jefferson scored 28 points in a game that meant nothing for the Nets. New Jersey miss the playoffs this year meaning the NBA won't see players like Vince Carter and Jefferson during the postseason schedule.

Our View:Jefferson added four rebounds and five assists in the 20 point come from behind win over Charlotte.
