DeSagana Diop has inked a deal with the Mavericks, according to the AP. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Our View:He provides a big body to the Mavs at 7-0 280 pounds, but has been a bust since being selected as a lottery pick by Cleveland back in 2001, and isn't likely to break out in Dallas.

DeSagana Diop , traded by the Dallas Mavericks to the New Jersey Nets in February, is returning to his former team with an impressive new pay raise to boot, according to the Dallas Star-Telegram.

Our View:The 7-foot center agreed to a five-year contract with the Mavs on Wednesday and he is expected to sign on July 9 for the entire mid-level exception, expected to be around $5.5 million or more for the first season.

The Dallas Mavericks may use their mid-level exception on center DeSagana Diop, reports the Dallas Star-Telegram.

Our View:The mid-level exception is going to be between $5.5 and $5.7 million this season, which seems like an awful lot for a guy who has career averages of two points and four rebounds. His usefulness in fantasy leagues is minimal, at best.
