Ian Kinsler, 2B Friday 7/4, 7:19 PM CT
Ian Kinsler went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Friday's 10-4 loss to the Orioles in Baltimore.

Our View: Kinsler extended his hitting streak to 16 games, with eight multi-hit efforts over the span.
Milton Bradley, DH Friday 7/4, 7:09 PM CT
Milton Bradley went 2-for-4 with three RBI in Friday's 10-4 loss to the Orioles at Camden Yards. He hit a single and a double.

Our View: He raised his average to .323 and has 54 RBI, with five coming over his last two games.
Vicente Padilla, P Friday 7/4, 6:09 PM CT
Vicente Padilla has sustained a bruised right thumb, which forced him to leave Friday's game against the Orioles in the third inning, according to the AP. He was struck in the hand by a hard single from Freddie Bynum.

Our View: His X-rays came back negative, but his status for his next start on Wedneday is to be determined.
Vicente Padilla, P Friday 7/4, 5:54 PM CT
Vicente Padilla was forced out of action tonight due to an apparent leg injury, after allowing eight earned runs over 2.2 innings against the Orioles.

Our View: We will keep you posted when more details regarding his injury are revealed.
Nelson Cruz, RF Friday 7/4, 12:21 PM CT
Nelson Cruz was named a Pacific Coast League All-Star for the Triple-A All-Star Game on July 16 in Louisville, this according to the Dallas News.

Our View: Cruz, who opened the season with the Rangers in 2007, is starting to lose his prospect status. The outfielder is hitting .348 with 25 home runs and 70 RBI for Texas' top affiliate.
Josh Rupe, P Friday 7/4, 12:13 PM CT
Josh Rupe has developed into the primary long reliever in the Texas bullpen, this according to the Star Telegram. Kaz Fukumori, Kameron Loe, Wes Littleton and Robinson Tejeda have all failed where Rupe has succeeded. The right-hander sports a 3.47 ERA while the bullpen as a whole is at the botoom of the league with a 5.06 ERA.

Our View: Rupe has no traditional fantasy value. In truth, his 4.44 K rate is sub par and his 3.28 BB rate is far too high. So if Rupe is the best the Rangers bullpen has to offer, the Texas starters have little hope for "wins" unless they can pitch a complete game.
Kevin Millwood, P Thursday 7/3, 7:31 PM CT
The Texas Rangers will skip Scott Feldman in the rotation and send Kevin Millwood to the mound on Sunday versus the Orioles, this according to MLB.com.

Our View: Millwood, who last started on Tuesday, July 1, will be working on regular (4-days) rest.
Milton Bradley, DH Thursday 7/3, 7:26 PM CT
Milton Bradley has missed 14 of the Rangers' first 85 games. But he still leads the league in on-base percentage and slugging percentage despite nagging injuries, this according to MLB.com.

Our View: Bradley, apparently healthy again, hit a two-run home run on Wednesday night supporting his claims he feels as good as he has all year. The outfielder claims his ailments have been the result of his offseason knee surgery and the normal bumps and bruises that occur during a long MLB season.
Josh Hamilton, CF Thursday 7/3, 7:16 PM CT
Josh Hamilton, who has led the American League in runs batted in for nearly the entire firs half of the season, is expected to be a popular choice for the All Star Game Home Run Derby, this according to MLB.com.

Our View: Hamilton isn't considered a raw power player, but neither was Bobby Abreu when he won the contest a few years back. As well as Hamilton is swinging the bat, one has to be concerned what the derby has done to other players who have made it to the finals of the event.
Milton Bradley, DH Wednesday 7/2, 9:58 PM CT
Milton Bradley went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Wednesday's 18-7 loss to the Yankees.

Our View: That was his 17th homer of the season, and his second over his last six games.
Josh Hamilton, CF Wednesday 7/2, 9:54 PM CT
Josh Hamilton went 1-for-3 with two RBI in Wednesday's 18-7 loss to the Yankees in the Bronx. His hit went for a single.

Our View: Hamilton now has 82 RBI over 83 games, with six coming over his last six games.
Michael Young, SS Wednesday 7/2, 8:08 PM CT
Michael Young left Wednesday night's game against the Yankees due to an apparent left groin strain, according to the AP.

Our View: We will keep you posted when more details regarding the injury are determined. He was replaced at shortstop by Ramon Vazquez.
Frank Francisco, P Wednesday 7/2, 12:03 PM CT
Assuming Eddie Guardado takes his time recovering from his sore ankle and shoulder, it appears Frank Francisco will be called upon for eighth inning duties for the Rangers. In his last seven appearances he has not allowed a run while striking out nine and walking just one batter.

Our View: Francisco combines a variety of pitches with accuracy and could be a long term solution for the setup role in the Rangers' bullpen. He has not allowed any of his 10 inherited runners over his last seven games to score.
Kevin Millwood, P Tuesday 7/1, 9:53 PM CT
Texas sent veteran RHP Kevin Millwood to the mound against the hated New York Yankees this evening, and while he failed to get a decision, he served his team well, going five innings to allow one run on five hits with one walk and six strikeouts.

Our View: Millwood totaled 84 pitches over that short span but made it count, though the relief pitching nearly blew it. This is his third no-decision in his last five stars.
Ian Kinsler, 2B Tuesday 7/1, 9:48 PM CT
The Rangers put the 3-2 win over the Yankees tonight led by the offensive gifts of second baseman Ian Kinsler . As the leadoff man, Kinsler went 2-for-3 at the dish with two walks, also posting three stolen bases on the night, posting one run scored.

Our View: Kinsler now carries 23 stolen bases on the season but posted just five of 'em through June. He nearly matched that number in one day.
Scott Feldman, P Tuesday 7/1, 6:52 PM CT
The Rangers report pitchers Scott Feldman and Eddie Guardado are going to be given extra rest by the team, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Feldman is fine physically but is starting to pile up innings in his first year as a starter. The Rangers are going to use Thursday's day off to give him extra rest. Feldman's turn comes up on Sunday against the Orioles, but he's being pushed back to Tuesday against the Angels. Guardado was unavailable to pitch on Tuesday night, one day after having to come out of Monday's game with inflammation in his left shoulder. Guardado came in and warmed up to pitch the eighth inning, but he had to come out when he felt the shoulder act up.
Frank Catalanotto, LF Tuesday 7/1, 9:41 AM CT
Frank Catalanotto is likely to be dangled in an attempt to add another piece to the Rangers puzzle, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View: With Chris Davis up and hitting well and the impending return of Hank Blalock, there will shortly be few options for Catalanotto to be in the lineup. He is still a solid major league hitter, but where he ends up will determine just how much value he will continue to hold in AL only leagues.
