San Francisco Giants 2007 Preview
By Mike Castiglione, Contributing MLB Editor

Philadelphia PA (Sports Network) - The National League West Division was virtually up for grabs for much of the 2006 season, however the Padres and Dodgers separated themselves from the pack late in the year, while the Giants were one of the teams that struggled down the stretch. When all was said and done, San Francisco finished in third place, 11 1/2 games back of the NL West- Champion Padres.

A few notable changes were made in the offseason, although this year's team is not much different than last year's across several areas. One o... More...

Player Notes
Juan Uribe, SS Sunday 9/5, 10:03 PM CT
Juan Uribe homered in his only official at-bat against the Dodgers on Sunday.

Our View:Uribe went 1-for-1 with two walks. His two-run homer extended the Giants' lead to 3-0, the score they ended up winning by.
Jonathan Sanchez, P Sunday 9/5, 10:01 PM CT
Jonathan Sanchez shut out the Dodgers over seven innings on Sunday.

Our View:He gave up just three hits and one walk while striking out nine. You never know exactly what you're going to get from Sanchez going into a given start, but there's no doubt that when he's on, he's as unhittable as anyone in the league.
Pablo Sandoval, 3B Sunday 9/5, 12:29 PM CT
Pablo Sandoval has been dealing with soreness in his hip, according to Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:Sandoval didn't play Saturday, but even if he'd been feeling great, he might have sat against a lefty. Still, he was available to pinch hit, and he's likely to play tomorrow if not today.
