A-Rod to see hip specialist
Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez will fly to Vail, Colo., on Wednesday to see hip specialist Dr. Marc Phillipon at Steadman-Hawkins Clinic.

After experiencing right hip tightness at Spring Training, Rodriguez was examined by team physician Dr. Chris Ahmad on Saturday. An MRI revealed the formation of a cyst in the hip, and Dr. Ahmad suggested a follow-up with a hip specialist.

Jorge Posada (head) was cleared for competitive play Wednesday, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

Our View:Tests Wednesday confirmed that Posada did not suffer a concussion Tuesday when he was struck in the head by a foul tip. He's currently listed as day-to-day, and we expect him back by the weekend. Francisco Cervelli filled in today.

Ivan Nova gave up two runs over six innings against the Orioles on Wednesday.

Our View:Nova allowed six hits and two walks while striking out six. His ERA remains under 3.00, at 2.92, through six appearances (four start) this season.
Nick Swisher, RF Wednesday 9/8, 3:13 PM CT
Nick Swisher hit a walk-off homer for the Yankees on Wednesday.

Our View:The Yankees were down 2-1 entering the ninth inning and facing Koji Uehara, who was a perfect 7-of-7 in save chances this season. Alex Rodriguez was able to get on base with a single. Eduardo Nunez came in to pinch run, and with one out in the inning, Swisher left the yard in deep left center. The homer was his 26th of the season.
