Player Notes
Dan Uggla, 2B Friday 5/16, 9:36 PM CT
Dan Uggla went 3-for-3 with one RBI and blasted his 13th homer of the season in Friday's 7-6 loss to the Royals. He scored three runs in the losing effort as well.

Our View:Uggla has pushed his average up to .313, with 30 RBI and 33 runs scored over 40 games. Uggla is having a strong season, and is still getting better as a second baseman.
Cody Ross, CF Friday 5/16, 7:41 PM CT
Cody Ross is working his way into what could be a full-time role as the leadoff hitter and center fielder for the Marlins, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Apparently manager Fredi Gonzalez commented he might give Ross five straight starts, which has set this whole thing in motion. Since he hit .335 in 173 AB last year, that might be a good idea. Still, he doesn't figure to be more than a very low end mixed league option.
Mike Jacobs, 1B Friday 5/16, 10:31 AM CT
Manager Fredi Gonzalez said there is a good chance Mike Jacobs will be ready to return to the starting lineup Saturday, according to the Miami Herald. Jacobs has been limited by a strained left quad.

Our View:Jacobs has received just two at-bats over the last week plus but was red-hot before going down with the ailment.
