Bronson Arroyo was lashed for seven runs off eight hits through only 4.1 innings in a 9-2 loss to Rockies Wednesday.

Our View:Arroyo dropped to 14-10 with the loss, his third in a row and sixth in his past 10 starts. His ERA spiked to 4.09 after allowing three homers, and he's given up at least three runs in six of his 10 outings since July 21.
Jay Bruce, RF Wednesday 9/8, 7:52 PM CT
Jay Bruce (ribs) took batting practice Wednesday, according to John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Our View:Bruce has been dealing with a sore right side, but he said he felt "fine" after taking some swings today. He's trying to make a return to the Reds lineup Friday.
Drew Stubbs, CF Tuesday 9/7, 11:10 PM CT
