Report: Braves add veteran OF Anderson
Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Braves reportedly signed veteran outfielder Garret Anderson to a one-year contract on Sunday.

The Atlanta-Journal Constitution, which incorrectly reported on Tuesday that future Hall-of-Famer Ken Griffey Jr. was headed to the Braves, disclosed Anderson's deal to be worth $2.5 million. An official announcement is expected on Monday.

Anderson, 36, had spent his entire 15-year career with the Angels, compiling a .296 average with 272 home runs and 1,292 RBI. He has played at least 100 games in each of the past 14 seasons ... More...

Player Notes
Nate McLouth, CF Sunday 9/5, 3:10 PM CT
Nate McLouth drove in three runs in Atlanta's 7-6 loss to the Marlins Sunday.

Our View:McLouth finished 1-for-3 with a two-run sacrifice fly and an RBI single. The RBI were his first in nine games since returning to the team, and he now has a paltry .168 average through 191 at-bats this season.
Mike Minor, P Sunday 9/5, 3:07 PM CT
Mike Minor was rocked for six runs off nine hits before being pulled after only four innings in a 7-6 loss to the Marlins Sunday.

Our View:Minor didn't walk anyone, and he added five strikeouts so it wasn't all bad. Still, he gave up six doubles, a triple and a homer in an awful outing that yanked his ERA all the way up to 5.33 through five starts.
Chipper Jones, 3B Sunday 9/5, 12:58 PM CT
Chipper Jones earned himself a one-game suspension for being ejected from Saturday's game while on the disabled list, according to David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Our View:Not that the rule has to be enforced that often, but the one-game suspension is automatic for players on the DL who manage to get tossed from a game. He'll sit out one game in 2011 if he returns.
