LaTroy Hawkins allowed two hits in the ninth inning on Sunday but worked out of trouble to earn his fourth save, his second in as many days. While Joe Borowski is on the DL, Hawkins should now get most of the save chances for the Cubs. It is not yet clear how long Borowski will be out.

LaTroy Hawkins picked up his third save on Saturday by recording the final four outs. Joe Borowski had pitched the previous two games, though it may be generous to say that's the reason why he was not called upon. Borowski has struggled greatly this year, while Hawkins has been lights out.

LaTroy Hawkins picked up his first save of the year by collecting the final four outs for the Cubs on Saturday. Joe Borowski, the club's usual closer who has struggled for much of this year, was presumably available in the bullpen having thrown just 16 pitches on Friday. However, Dusty Baker let Hawkins finish the game because Hawkins was familiar with all three batters he faced in the ninth because they were all former AL hitters.
